The UTMB John Sealy School of Medicine (JSSOM) MD Program Class of 2025 selected 𝐀𝐦𝐲 𝐆𝐨𝐧𝐳𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐳, 𝐌𝐃, 𝐅𝐀𝐀𝐏, for the James W. Powers Award!

This award, given to a faculty member by the graduating class, honors a teacher who — by example and instruction — has contributed in an eminent way to the central task of creating physicians capable of practicing both the art and the science of medicine.

Dr. Gonzalez is an Associate Professor of UTMB Health Pediatrics and recently became Assistant Dean for Admissions and Recruitment in the JSSOM. Congratulations!

We are happy to announce that Amy Gonzalez, MD, FAAP, has been named Assistant Dean for Admissions and Recruitment in the UTMB John Sealy School of Medicine (JSSOM)!

Dr. Gonzalez is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. She is deeply committed to medical student and resident education and has been actively involved in teaching across all four years of the JSSOM curriculum.
