The Lindale Rotary Club held its 4-Way Test Speech Contest yesterday, and what an impressive group of students we heard from!
Carlos Martinez, a junior at LHS, delivered a thoughtful speech capturing the rich history of Lindale. Connor Stevens, also a junior, spoke on business ethics, weaving in his powerful personal story of overcoming poverty. Senior Diya Patel challenged us all with a message about changing ourselves in order to positively impact those around us.
After tough competition, congratulations go to Connor Stevens, who was named this year’s winner! Connor is no stranger to success, having already earned recognition at both the state and national levels in speech and debate.
Connor will go on to represent the Lindale Rotary Club at the Rotary District 5830 4-Way Test Speech Contest on April 14th in Mt. Pleasant. His speech will address the topic:
“How can applying the Rotary Four-Way Test help unite people for the common good in our schools, communities, and world?”
We’re proud of all three students and wish Connor the very best as he advances. Good luck, Connor!
