Please join us in welcoming Dr. Gabriella Izzo to Community Care Pediatrics - Saratoga and Malta! ✨

Dr. Izzo is a board-certified pediatrician dedicated to caring for kiddos from newborns through college age. She earned her medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University and completed her pediatric training at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. From day one, she knew pediatrics was her calling — drawn to children’s resilience and the opportunity to support families through every stage of growth.

As a local parent herself, Dr. Izzo brings empathy, clear communication, and a whole-family approach to every visit — whether it’s your first newborn appointment or helping teens thrive. She loves reading, exploring the outdoors, and discovering new restaurants with her family when she’s not seeing patients.

It is with both gratitude and mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of Dr. Laura Lecours. While we are truly saddened to see her go, we are equally happy for her as she begins this well-deserved new chapter. Her dedication, compassion, and commitment have made a lasting impact on our patients and our team, and her presence will be greatly missed.

Please join us in thanking Dr. Lecours for her many years of outstanding service and in wishing her health and happiness in her retirement! April Fools Day will never be the same in our office 🥺

We follow the guidance and recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), made up of scientists including doctors, immunologists, infectious disease specialists and epidemiologists. These are the people we trust to keep our own children and our patients safe, and we appreciate your trust in us. We are working very hard, every day, to prevent serious and *preventable* illnesses from coming back to our area - a very real potential consequence of falling below safe vaccination rates as a community. Our recommended vaccine schedule and policies remain the same and follow New York State school requirements.

Statement by AAP President Dr. Andrew Racine on today’s HHS announcement about the childhood immunization schedule:

“Today’s announcement by federal health officials to arbitrarily stop recommending numerous routine childhood immunizations is dangerous and unnecessary. The longstanding, evidence-based approach that has guided the U.S. immunization review and recommendation process remains the best way to keep children healthy and protect against health complications and hospitalizations.

For decades, leading health experts, immunologists, and pediatricians have carefully reviewed new data and evidence as part of the immunization recommendation process, helping to keep newborns, infants, and children protected from diseases they could be exposed to in the United States as they develop and grow. Today’s decision, which was based on a brief review of other countries’ practices, upends this deliberate scientific process.

During this uncertain time, the AAP will continue to publish our own childhood vaccine recommendations.”
