“I’m sick, can you send something to my pharmacy?”
And my answer?
I will not.
I know… that might sound surprising coming from a doctor.
But here’s what most people don’t realize: When you suddenly feel sick, cough, congestion, sore throat it’s usually a virus.
And antibiotics? They don’t treat viruses.
So sending one “just in case” isn’t helping… and can actually do more harm than good.
The better question is:
What symptoms are you having and how do we treat those?
Because real care isn’t about automatically prescribing something.
It’s about understanding what’s actually going on in your body and choosing the right approach.
Not every illness needs an antibiotic…
but every patient deserves thoughtful care.
Have you ever expected antibiotics and later realized you didn’t need them
