At a time when 1 in 5 adults faces a mental health challenge each year, the need for strong community partnerships has never been more urgent. When mental well-being impacts our families, workplaces, and local economies, connection and collaboration become essential—because no one thrives alone.

Hegira Health’s Senior Director of Marketing & Communications Katherine Grisson joined leaders from across Southeastern Michigan at the Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber - Downriver's Business Network forum featuring Detroit Mayor and Gubernatorial Candidate Mike Duggan. The gathering at Crystal Gardens brought together business leaders, educators, and regional stakeholders to explore how government and workforce partnerships can better support the health and stability of our community.

We value our business and community partnerships. If you’re looking to partner with Hegira Health, call our Communications Department at 734-458-4601.

In Michigan, 13.5% of kids struggle with anxiety or depression, yet nearly 4 out of 10 never receive treatment.

These struggles aren’t distant.

They show up in our classrooms, our workplaces, our families, and with the people we love.

At Hegira Health, we step in when life feels overwhelming: offering Behavioral Urgent Care, Substance Use Disorder treatment, and Outpatient Services that meet people with dignity, compassion, and real solutions.

“We finally found hope at Hegira Health: nurturing the whole child brought back my child’s confidence and joy.”

Holiday stress is real — studies show nearly 3 in 5 people experience increased tension around Thanksgiving, especially during difficult family dynamics. For many, this looks like anxiety before gatherings, feeling overwhelmed by conflict, or struggling with loneliness during a season that’s supposed to feel joyful.

Hegira Health Director of Adult Outpatient Services Matina Fabian joined Jay Scott Smith and Priya Mann in the WDIV Local 4 / ClickOnDetroit studios to share practical coping strategies to help manage difficult family dynamics and stress this holiday season.

Hegira Health is here to support you through the moments that feel heavy. Our Behavioral Health Urgent Care is open for walk-ins when emotions spike. Our substance use treatment programs offer judgment-free support for those coping in unhealthy ways. And our outpatient mental health services provide ongoing care to help you build healthier patterns long after the holidays have passed.

If this season feels harder than expected, reach out to Hegira Health for support at (734) 793-5026.

12 more days until 🌟

Last year alone, more than 19,000 children, adults, and families in our community turned to Hegira Health for mental health care, substance use treatment, and behavioral health urgent care.

Behind every number is someone facing a moment of fear, uncertainty, or crisis. Too many individuals still struggle in silence—worried they won’t find support, or that help won’t come in time.

At Hegira Health, no one is ever turned away. As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic, we meet people where they are—with compassion, dignity, and the promise of Wellness First. But we can only continue this life-changing work with the support of people like you.

Your gift ensures a child builds resilience… a parent finds hope… and a family feels less alone. ♥️

This holiday season, focus on gratitude — for happiness and well-being all year long.

For about 64% of people living with mental illness, the holidays bring added stress and a noticeable increase in symptoms.

In her latest The News-Herald column, Hegira Health President & CEO Carol Zuniga explores the science and practice of gratitude and how intentionally recognizing the kindness of others can reduce stress, boost joy, and strengthen relationships.

Carol shares practical ways to make gratitude part of everyday life, not just the holidays. From mindful reflection and appreciation to simple expressions of thanks that can rewire the brain toward positivity.
