So grateful to have been part of Saturday’s Third Annual Women’s Summit and to share in such a meaningful day of connection, learning, and inspiration.

A heartfelt thank you to Mae Caime for curating such a beautiful event and bringing together a community of like-minded women willing to share their stories, wisdom, and journeys so openly.

It was a day to pause, breathe, learn, laugh, and reconnect with ourselves and one another. I was also honored to be part of such an incredible lineup of speakers, including Yolanda Taylor, Diana Feinstein, Beth Ramer, Dr. Eve Lupenko, Tammy J. Cohen, Sarah K. What a wonderful evening last night at PureCare Pharmacy & Wellness for Beyond Symptoms: How Functional Medicine Treats the Mind, Body, and Soul.

It was a pleasure to attend and to hear Tom Amigdalos and Dr. Luis Fandos - Alluring Age NY speak on such an important and timely topic. Prashant Gupta, Publisher of Roslyn Living, did an excellent job as moderator, guiding a meaningful discussion centered on functional medicine, integrative healthcare, and a more personalized, whole-body approach to wellness.

Special thanks to Georgia Amigdalos of PureCare Pharmacy & Wellness and Terrie Magro, Co-Founder of the Michael Magro Foundation, for helping bring together such a thoughtful and well-executed evening. Conversations like these create space for learning, connection, and a deeper understanding of what it means to truly support health fully.

Just returning from the STARS Stuttering Research Society Conference in Algarve and Lisbon, Portugal, and once again, I’m reminded how differently the body responds to food in Europe. You can enjoy three nourishing meals a day, fresh bread, local wine, and somehow not gain weight, feel less bloated, and walk away without headaches or digestive discomfort.

Why? Because much of the food is still closer to its natural source—grown in nutrient-rich soil, minimally processed, and far less chemically altered. In fact, the European Union has banned more than 150,000 ingredients, additives, and chemical compounds that are still permitted in the U.S. food supply. Over time, this chemical burden can contribute to chronic inflammation, gut disruption, and metabolic stress, keeping so many Americans trapped in what has become more of a “sick-care system” rather than a true healthcare system.

We are seeing the consequences in rising rates of diabesity, metabolic dysfunction, cardiovascular disease, and autoimmune disorders. The Mediterranean lifestyle reminds us that health is not complicated—it is built on real food, movement, fresh water, social connection, and slowing down around the table. When we return to whole foods and reduce chemical exposure, we support the body’s natural ability to regulate metabolism, digestion, and longevity. Winter Isn’t Just a Season, It’s a Nervous System Shift ❄️

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) affects millions, especially in northern climates where daylight decreases, and our circadian rhythm becomes disrupted.

This isn’t “just the winter blues.”
It’s a biological shift involving serotonin, melatonin, cortisol, and vitamin D regulation.

Common Symptoms of SAD:
• Mood: Persistent sadness, anxiety, irritability, feelings of guilt or worthlessness
• Energy: Extreme fatigue, sluggishness, decreased motivation
• Sleep: Oversleeping (hypersomnia), difficulty waking, daytime drowsiness
• Appetite: Increased hunger, carbohydrate cravings, emotional eating, weight changes
• Social: Withdrawal, canceling plans, feeling like “hibernating.”
• Cognitive: Brain fog, difficulty concentrating, indecisiveness
