Your body is incredibly wise. If it senses stress, scarcity, or energy instability, it will pause reproduction to protect you.
Balanced blood sugar tells your body, “We’re safe. We’re nourished. It’s okay to create.”

So how do you know if your blood sugar is supporting or sabotaging your fertility?
Here are a few clues 👇

Signs your blood sugar may be unstable:

Afternoon energy crashes or irritability between meals

Sugar or carb cravings after dinner

Trouble sleeping through the night

Feeling shaky, lightheaded, or “hangry” when you skip meals

Irregular cycles or PMS that seems worse when you’re stressed

Signs your blood sugar is balanced:

Steady energy all day

Fewer cravings and mood swings

More consistent, symptom-free cycles

Better sleep and calmer moods

If your fertility journey feels frustrating or confusing, start here... not with a new supplement or another restrictive plan, but with blood sugar balance.

Because when your metabolism is steady, your hormones can find their rhythm again.

If you're in the Boise, Idaho area and you want to know more about what blood-sugar-balanced eating looks like or how to support fertility through food,
👉 Comment “BALANCE” and I’ll send you details for how you can register for a class that will teach you how to nourish your body for fertility.

You might need ozone therapy if…

• You feel like your body just isn’t bouncing back the way it used to.
• Chronic fatigue has you running on empty no matter how much sleep you get.
• Inflammation and pain are your “normal,” and nothing seems to calm it down.
• Your immune system feels weak—you catch every bug that comes around.
• You’re looking for a natural way to support detox, recovery, and whole-body healing.

Here’s the science in simple terms: Ozone (O₃) is a super-charged form of oxygen. When introduced into the body in therapeutic doses, it helps your cells use oxygen more efficiently. That means more energy production (ATP), less oxidative stress, improved circulation, and activation of your body’s antioxidant and immune systems.

The result? More energy, clearer thinking, faster recovery, and less inflammation holding you back.

If you’ve tried all the “usual” approaches and still don’t feel like yourself, ozone therapy may be the missing piece.

If you're in the Boise, Idaho area, you can pre-schedule an appointment for Ozone Therapy in our clinic. Go to the link in our bio to schedule.

Perimenopause ≠ Menopause

Perimenopause and menopause are not the same thing — but doctors often lump them together.

Perimenopause: The transition years leading up to menopause, usually starting in your 40s. Periods become irregular, symptoms sneak in (sleep issues, mood shifts, hot flashes). Hormones are swinging up and down unpredictably.

Menopause: The day you’ve gone 12 months without a period. Hormones have declined and stabilized at lower levels.

If you’re in your 40s and wondering why your body feels different… chances are you’re in perimenopause, not menopause. And support looks different for each.

Did you know this difference before? Type “new info” if this was eye-opening.

Can you relate to any of these stories?

(They used ozone therapy as part of their healing... see if that's something you want to explore.)

1) Chronic Knee Pain
• Symptoms: Stiff, painful knees limiting walking and exercise
• Tried: Physical therapy, anti-inflammatories, steroid injections
• Ozone Approach: Prolozone injections directly into her knees
• Results: Pain reduced by 80%, regained mobility, stopped needing daily meds

2) Fatigue & Recurrent Infections
• Symptoms: Persistent fatigue, brain fog, recurring sinus infections after a viral illness
• Tried: Supplements, antibiotics, diet changes
• Ozone Approach: Major Autohemotherapy (MAH) – systemic blood treatment with ozone
• Results: Energy restored, brain fog cleared, infections stopped, inflammation markers improved

3) Slow Healing & Joint Stiffness
• Symptoms: Shoulder injury not healing for months, limited range of motion
• Tried: Rest, PT, cortisone shots
• Ozone Approach: Ozone injections into the shoulder and surrounding tissue
• Results: Tissue repair accelerated, pain reduced, regained full range of motion

4) Metabolic Issues & Low Energy
• Symptoms: Stubborn weight gain, fatigue, elevated blood sugar, early insulin resistance
• Tried: Diet, exercise, supplements
• Ozone Approach: Major Autohemotherapy (MAH) to improve cellular oxygen use and metabolic function
• Results: Better energy, improved blood sugar control, easier weight loss, and enhanced exercise tolerance

Ozone therapy works by:
• Reducing inflammation
• Boosting oxygen delivery
• Supporting cellular repair, metabolism, and immune function

Ozone therapy isn’t for everyone, but it can be a game-changer for people struggling with persistent symptoms where other treatments haven’t worked. Head on over to our website to read the blog or to schedule an initial appointment to discuss Ozone Therapy and you.

Need a system reboot? A little healing accelerator?

An under utilized treatment that helps your body heal faster, fight inflammation at its source, boost your energy, sharpen your focus, and even speed recovery from injuries—without relying on stronger medications or endless procedures— is available through ozone therapy.

Sounds too good to be true, but here’s what it does in your body:

Improved Oxygen Utilization – Ozone helps your red blood cells release oxygen more efficiently and supports enzymes that turn that oxygen into energy (ATP) at the cellular level.

Modulation of Oxidative Stress – At the right dose, ozone acts as a gentle stressor that activates your body’s antioxidant systems, increasing glutathione, catalase, and superoxide dismutase…your built-in defenses against inflammation and damage.

Anti-Inflammatory Effects – Ozone can shift your body’s chemistry toward a less inflamed state, which is key in joint pain, autoimmune issues, and lingering post-illness symptoms.

Immune System “Tuning” – It helps balance immune activity boosting it where needed (e.g., in chronic infections) and calming it down when it’s overactive (as in autoimmunity).

Better Blood Flow – Ozone can improve microcirculation, helping nutrients and oxygen reach hard-to-heal tissues like tendons and ligaments.

Antimicrobial Action – In topical or local applications, ozone can directly inactivate bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

We offer ozone therapy in clinic! We are prescheduling appointments in November now!

In the meantime, read up on ozone therapy in our blog.

Hormone Health by Decade: What Every Woman Needs to Know

💛 20s – Build Your Foundation
Your hormones are strong, but lifestyle matters! Sleep 7–9 hours, eat protein with every meal, and move your body to keep estrogen and insulin balanced.

💚 30s – Stress Check
Cortisol can throw your cycles and sleep off balance. Daily stress resets like breathwork, walks, or meditation + balanced meals can protect your hormones.

💙 40s – Perimenopause Prep
Progesterone dips, cycles shift, mood changes. Track your cycle, eat cruciferous veggies, manage blood sugar, and lift weights to protect muscles and hormone balance.

💜 50s – Menopause & Beyond
Estrogen drops, bones and metabolism are more sensitive. Focus on strength training, protein, calcium, vitamin D, and sleep. Lab testing can guide personalized support.

Your hormones deserve attention at every stage. If we don’t give them the attention, they’ll eventually demand it…and that’s not a fun place to find yourself.

We're inviting you to hang around for more hormone tips and education through a functional medicine lens. Save the post and share it with the friend that popped into your mind when you read it!

We know. Most of your lab results came within a “normal range.” That's confusing when your body isn't lining up with what the test showed.

Here’s the problem: normal doesn’t always mean optimal.

That’s why we don’t just talk about “hormone balancing” in our clinic. We focus on hormone optimization.

-Balancing aims for average.

-Normal doesn't mean "great."

-Optimization aims for your best function.

Our goal is not to settle for being “in range” but to fine-tune your hormones so they support your energy, mood, metabolism, sleep, and overall quality of life. Because you deserve more than normal. We want you feeling your best!

Some of us like surprises... some of us hate them!

I think we can all agree that no one loves a surprise surgery!!!

I had an emergency appendectomy last month!

Surgery is inevitable at some point in your life...for you or for someone you love.

Here's my 5-prong integrative plan for you to heal faster (Please read my blog for further details.)

1. Nutrition

Start with clear liquids such as bone broths, gelatin, water, and electrolytes. As you advance your diet, include foods rich in vitamin C for wound healing. Good examples include lemon water, strawberries, kiwi. Increase fiber slowly and to bowel tolerance. Include adequate protein!

2. Peptides

My favorite peptide for wound healing and immune support is thymosin beta 4. (More on this in my blog!)

3. Homeopathy

Arnica pellets 30 c or higher dosed 5 pellets before surgery and every 3-4 hours while awake. Arnica cream around the incision site. Arnica is excellent for trauma to reduce bruising and swelling.

Phosphorus 30c or higher dosed 5 pellets before surgery and every 3-4 hours while awake, decrease dosing as the brain fog from anesthesia lifts. Phosphorus reduces risk of bleeding and helps clear anesthesia.

Hypericum Perforatum 30c or higher dosed 5 pellets every 3-4 hours after surgery. This is a great anti-inflammation remedy.

Staphysagria 30 c or higher. This is a good remedy for nerve pain and for wound healing. 5 pellets every 3-4 hours after surgery.

4. Movement and Rest

Movement is crucial as soon as possible, but slow paced AND partnered with lots of rest. I slept 2-4 hours in the afternoon for the first 4 days post-op.

5. Vitamins

Vitamin C

Omega 3 + SPM’s

Curcumin

Zinc

Probiotic, especially if antibiotics were given

Bromelain

Multivitamin

Mental health fact you may not know....

Your thyroid doesn’t just control your energy and metabolism, it also deeply impacts your mental health.

When thyroid hormones are off, mood and brain chemistry often follow. Anxiety, depression, brain fog, and even sleep struggles can sometimes trace back to thyroid imbalance.

That’s why optimizing thyroid health isn’t just about your body, it’s also about your mind.

Swipe through to see how your thyroid and mental health are connected.

You've heard about "peptides" and heard the claims of all of the benefits. But, how exactly do they work?

Peptides are tiny chains of amino acids that act like little messengers in your body telling your cells how to repair, restore, and function better. We use them to support the body in very specific ways.

Here’s how some of the most powerful ones work:

🔹 GLP-1: Shed stubborn weight & quiet constant food thoughts
Think of GLP-1 as a reset button for your appetite. It tells your brain, “you’re satisfied,” which helps calm the constant food noise and late-night cravings. Beyond curbing appetite, it supports metabolic repair, reduces inflammation, and addresses weight gain linked to hormone imbalances.

🔹 Thymosin Alpha 1 & Thymosin Beta- Strengthen & balance your immune system
These peptides help your immune system work smarter, not harder. They regulate how your body responds to infection, support recovery after long illnesses, and even help tissues heal and repair. It’s like giving your immune system the right tools so it can do its job effectively without going into overdrive.

🔹 Larazotide- Heal your gut from the inside out
If your gut lining is “leaky,” undigested food particles and toxins can slip into the bloodstream, sparking inflammation. Larazotide works like a repair crew, tightening the gut barrier so nutrients get absorbed properly and inflammation calms down. This is key for better digestion, less bloating, and more energy.

🔹 Sermorelin- Turn back the clock on aging
Sermorelin encourages your body to naturally produce more growth hormone which declines as we age. This supports better sleep, healthier body composition (more lean muscle, less fat), and balanced hormones. Many patients notice they feel more like themselves again...rested, energetic, and strong.

While the benefits feel magical. peptides aren’t a magic bullet.

They do help your body get back into balance so it can heal the way it was designed to. When combined with nutrition, lifestyle, and functional medicine care, they can be powerful allies in restoring wellness from the inside out.
