Big news for the Allied Health Department! 👏
One of our exceptional RMA students completed her clinicals at Southwest Family Medicine in Liberal—and made such a great impression that it sparked a new partnership with GCCC and SCCC! 💥
With collaboration a top priority, this was the perfect chance for partnerships and student success.

Garden City Community College and Seward County Community College have signed a new Memorandum of Understanding to expand educational opportunities for students in Liberal and the surrounding areas. This agreement establishes a partnership for a Registered Medical Assistant program taught on the SCCC campus by instructors from both colleges!

The 2024-2025 honorees are Caroline Bradshaw, Associate Professor of Allied Health; Sara Gaut, Assistant Professor of Science; Chip Schuler, Director of Residential Life; Emmett Statzer, Head Coach Men's and Women's Track and Assistant Athletic Director; and Nancy Unruh, Registrar.

The League Excellence Awards, through the League for Innovation in the Community College, recognize outstanding faculty, staff, and leaders in the community college field who have made a significant difference in the lives of students and in the communities their colleges serve.

Some of our Community Health Worker students joined Heather Wright Renick from LiveWell Finney County Health Coalition to get a first hand experience about public transportation as part of their service learning hours in the course.

🚌 Learning Through Experience!

Yesterday, Heather and several Community Health Worker (CHW) students from Garden City Community College took a hands-on approach to understanding local transportation by riding City Link!

The group explored real-life scenarios to gauge how long it might take clients to get to school or medical appointments using the bus system. By experiencing the routes firsthand, the CHW students gained valuable insight that will help them better assist individuals who rely on public transportation in Finney County.

👏 Great job to Heather and the CHW students for going the extra mile—literally! Thank you for your dedication to making Finney County a healthier, more connected place to live.
