Natalya has been working our front desk for almost a year and we are proud to welcome her now as our Mental Health Counseling Intern! She provides affordable counseling to children, teens, and young adults. Natalya will be with us for the next year. She is filling up quickly and only has 2 spots left. We kick off this week with highlights of love and kindness beginning with a story of love of community. Dr. Martine cares deeply about working with children of all abilities and teaching them about self-assertion and advocacy. Her student community service group lobbied the village of Lynbrook for better safety measures around their school. They developed a proposal that included research, budget information, surveys, signed community petition, and letters of support from local politicians. Their efforts resulted in the installation of a four-way stop sign at a dangerous intersection, and were recognized by the Village of Lynbrook on January 14th for civic engagement in making sure the community remains safe. Congratulations to Dr. Martine and all of the children involved for this wonderful addition to the community!
