Gestational Diabetes Part 2: Managment…
If you get diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes, lifestyle medications are going to be SO important. Following a healthy diabetic diet, increasing your exercise, and decreasing your consumption of carbohydrates/sugars are key to managing the disease.
Daily blood sugar monitoring is something your health care provider will go over in detail with you at the time of diagnosis. It’s recommended to test twice a day: fasting and two hours after your largest meal.
Your sugar levels are an indicator of how well your diabetes is being managed. If you consistently have high readings despite all the lifestyle modifications, then Insulin may be recommended.
