They bring a level of human connection to our care that consistently goes above and beyond. Support can take many forms — providing counseling, connecting families with resources, or assisting with care planning. But often, the most meaningful support comes from simply showing empathy and presence. Our Medical Social Workers see every person as an individual with inherent value, dignity, and worth — and by honoring that, even in the smallest ways, they create lasting impact.

This week, Aveanna recognizes Patient Safety Awareness Week, a time to encourage and raise awareness about health care safety.

While there has been much progress in improving patient safety, there is still work to be done. This year's theme for Patient Safety Awareness Week is "Team Up for Patient Safety," which encourages collaboration between care teams, patients, and families. Whatever your role is in caregiving and health care, we all have a part to play in promoting safety and safeguarding health.
