Important Announcement Care Central VNA & Hospice (CCVNA) expands service area by 30 additional communities.
Holly Chaffee, MSN, BSN, RN, President and CEO of Care Central VNA & Hospice is honored to step forward in support of the patients, families, and staff of Overlook VNA & Hospice (OVNA) as OVNA discontinues operations of their home health and hospice programs.
We are proud to be a free-standing, highly reputable nonprofit organization serving Central Massachusetts. With this expansion, our service territory will reach 128 towns, welcoming 30 new communities into our care. This tremendous growth allows us to touch the lives of even more patients and families with the compassionate, high-quality care they deserve. Equally important, we are honored to welcome talented members of the Overlook team whose dedication to our mission will further strengthen our presence and amplify our impact across the nonprofit community.
CCVNA will be accepting the transfer of care for OVNA’s home health and hospice patients, ensuring their services continue without interruption. Our dedicated transition team is working side by side with OVNA staff to transfer care plans, coordinate with physicians, and maintain each patient’s established schedule and support network.
With this transition, CCVNA is proud to announce that we have doubled the size of our home health and hospice programs, allowing us to serve even more patients across our communities while preserving the same high standards of quality and compassion.
We are equally proud to welcome many of OVNA’s compassionate and skilled caregivers into the CCVNA non-profit family. These team members bring with them a deep commitment to their patients, and we look forward to helping them continue their meaningful work—delivering exceptional care, close to home. 💙

Our Adult Day Health Participants had a blast celebrating Luau Week! From tropical decorations and Hawaiian music to fun games and festive outfits, the spirit of the islands came alive right here at our program.

Wellness Nursing in Action! -Shirley, MA

Residents of Shirley Meadows ,a 2 Life Community in Shirley, MA enjoy engaging with Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc.’s Terri Saveall. As the Wellness Nurse for the community, Terri provides education, vital sign monitoring, and connects residents with needed resources to optimize their health and wellness every Wednesday. “Terri has become part of our family, and the residents greatly look forward to her weekly visits” shares Veronica Baez, Executive Director of Shirley Meadows. Wellness nursing aims to engage and educate individuals in their personal health and wellness by increasing confidence with knowledge of how to manage many chronic conditions such as heart failure or COPD, and to help residents understand their medications and how to identify early indications of an exacerbation. As individuals promptly manage small changes in condition, they often avoid the need for hospitalization or urgent care. Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc. is able to provide Wellness Nursing in part due to a grant from the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts.

7/30/2025 – Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc. President & CEO Holly A. Chaffee, MSN, BSN, RN is proud to announce the hospice program’s recognition by Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP) as winners of the SHPBest HOSPICE CAREGIVER EXPERIENCE award. The highly regarded hospice program achieved an overall score that ranked in the top 5% in the SHP national CAHPS Hospice benchmark and scored above the SHP national average for each CAHPS Hospice quality measure as measured from the caregiver’s point of view. Kelly Loescher, Hospice & Clinical I.S. Officer for Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc. shares “ This recognition reflects the incredible expertise and compassion our hospice team delivers, not only for individuals entrusting us in their care at end of life, but also the caregivers and family members who receive such meaningful empowerment and encouragement. We pride ourselves on this scoring of patients and families feeling supremely supported during their end-of-life experience of a loved one with serious illness.”

Making Music with RowRow!

Our participants had a blast this week during our music session with the amazing RowRow! From classic sing-alongs to feel-good favorites, the room was filled with rhythm, smiles, and lots of laughter.
Everyone joined in with singing, clapping, and even a little dancing as RowRow brought energy, joy, and music into the room.
We’re so grateful to RowRow for creating such a lively and engaging experience for all. We can’t wait to make music together again soon!

Friday, June 20th, 2025
Our Adult Day Health Program was bursting with color, joy, and sparkle today as we celebrated our first prom with a heartwarming “Sunshine & Rainbows” theme!
From vibrant outfits to bright smiles, the room radiated happiness. Participants sipped on our signature prom punch, posed for fabulous photos , and danced under cheerful decorations that filled the space with sunshine.
Every laugh, hug, and twirl reminded us that joy comes in all colors and all ages.
