Senator Jamie Eldridge hosted the 44th Annual Senior Conference on Thursday at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School in Marlborough, MA. Seniors from Middlesex and Worcester counties. The annual conference is designed to offer seniors a day filled with valuable information, entertainment, and educational workshops led by expert guest speakers. Senator Eldridge also provides complimentary breakfast and lunch and avails himself to listening to the concerns of individuals from the area, as well as facilitating access to additional members of the MA legislature. Representing Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc. at the event was Terri Saveall, Community Liaison.

Legislative Gathering at Point Breeze on Webster Lake

Area legislators and community leaders gathered Monday evening at Point Breeze for introductions to Brian Shortsleeve, Candidate for Governor of Massachusetts. Representing Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc. at the event was Kristin Mattson, PT, Chief Development & Clinical Care Transitions Officer. Kristin relished the opportunity to connect directly with legislators to share the challenges facing non-profit, community-based healthcare organizations in the current regulatory and reimbursement environment.

The Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts sponsored a workshop Wednesday in Medway which featured a presentation on Community -Based Palliative Care: Building for Sustainability. The program, presented by Constance Dahlin, MSN, ANP-BC, ACHPN, FPCN, FAAN, PhD and Masters Faculty at the Center to Advance Palliative Care, gathered Palliative Care providers and Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc.’s Jen Gardner, RN participated in a discussion with the presenter on strategies for palliative program expansion and sustainability in the home setting. Also attending from Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc. were Alyssa Widen, MSN, BSN, RN, Director of Hospice and Holly Chaffee, MSN, BSN, RN, President & CEO.

Jerry Posner is a dynamic speaker, facilitator, life transitions coach, and training specialist who has been inspiring audiences for over three decades. Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc. Annual Meeting & Awards Ceremony

Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc. celebrated the longevity of its staff Thursday evening, recognizing 35, 20, 15, 10 and 5 year milestones with the organization.
Holly Chaffee, MSN, BSN, RN, President & CEO proudly led the event, especially recognizing a heroic act of Sarah Crowley, RN, in saving the life of a patient by recognizing an unusual smell in the patient’s home during her visit, calling 911 and removing the patient from the home during what the fire department identified would have been a fatal carbon monoxide and propane leak. While extraordinary, at Care Central VNA & Hospice, Inc. the extraordinary is “ordinary “in our work, shared Chaffee. “These acts of compassion and service beyond the routine role are what separates us, and our longevity is a testament to the engagement in our mission and in doing our very best in every home, in every day.”

The well attended, energetic event gathered providers and resource organizations throughout Massachusetts. The meeting, led by Mike Zona of Apple Homecare & Rehab, highlighted organizational updates and upcoming events.

The Home Care Alliance of Massachusetts held its Regional Members Meeting at the Arca Adult Day Center in Worcester, Massachusetts on Thursday. The HCA of MA Members Meeting gathers agency leaders and members from across Central Massachusetts, fostering collaboration and professional engagement within the Home Care and Hospice community. HCA of MA leadership discussed timely policy updates and regulatory changes impacting the industry, ensuring participants remain informed and compliant with evolving requirements. Attendees also engaged in meaningful discussions, sharing challenges, ideas, and insights related to the changing landscape of Home Care, Hospice, and private duty agencies. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange best practices, explore solutions to common operational and clinical challenges, and strengthen regional partnerships to support high-quality patient care.
