This week, the Carson Valley Health Foundation, in partnership with the MEFIYI Foundation, had the pleasure of welcoming JAG Program students from Douglas High School and Aspire High School for an inside look at our hospital.

These students are our future workforce, and we love the opportunity to introduce them to the wide range of careers in healthcare while connecting them with many of our incredible leaders who shared their own journeys and experiences. Moments like these help spark curiosity, build confidence, and show students what’s possible right here in our community.

Supporting future healthcare professionals doesn’t stop with tours. Each year, the Carson Valley Health Foundation proudly offers scholarships for Douglas County residents pursuing careers in healthcare. The Journey Begins for high school seniors and The Journey Continues for those already working toward their degrees.

📅 Be sure to keep an eye out—scholarship applications open this January, with decisions made in April.

It’s never too late to say thank you — especially when it comes to celebrating the incredible partners who lift up our mission.

Back in September, Sierra Chef partnered with us for our Round Up for Healthcare campaign and helped raise over $500 to support local health and wellness right here at home.

The Carson Valley Health Foundation was honored to accept Douglas County’s Movember proclamation today. Raising awareness for men’s health is vital, and this recognition supports our ongoing efforts through the Together for Tomorrow campaign, which includes raising funds for a new Cancer Care Center. We are grateful to the Board of County Commissioners for helping shine a light on this important issue.

Today, the Board of County Commissioners issued Proclamation 2025P-098, declaring November 2025 as Movember – Men’s Health Awareness Month in Douglas County.

This proclamation recognizes the importance of raising awareness about men’s health issues, including prostate and testicular cancers, as well as men’s mental health. We thank the Carson Valley Health Foundation for its efforts in supporting men’s health initiatives!

What an incredible night! 🎀

A heartfelt thank you to the Tahoe/Douglas Elks Lodge for hosting this year’s Paint Nevada Pink Dinner on Saturday evening in support of the Carson Valley Health Foundation’s Pink Ribbon Fund. We are so grateful for your partnership and generosity in helping us keep funds local to support community members facing a breast cancer diagnosis.

We had a fantastic turnout, delicious food, and even better company! Dinner was proudly served by amazing CVH staff volunteers, and it was inspiring to see so many members of the CVH team attending and supporting the cause.

A very special and heartfelt thank you to CVH staff member and Elks Lodge member, Kate Barskey-Marsalis. Kate spearheaded this event from the very beginning, championing the Pink Ribbon Fund as the evening’s beneficiary. Her passion and dedication to helping others is truly unmatched—she spent months planning every detail, and her hard work showed in an unforgettable night filled with community, compassion, and purpose.

Kate, thank you for your leadership and heart. You have made a real impact.

We are so grateful to everyone who came out to support the mission—and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
