We are nature. Not separate from it. Just another wild thing moving through the seasons. And nature isn’t individualized; it’s everything happening all at once, unique to each creature.

A great example: I was walking Nigel the other day and noticed how some trees drop all their leaves in one dramatic “I’m done, goodbye!”—while others let go slowly, one piece at a time, easing their way into the next chapter.

And honestly… how many of us are the same?

When it’s time to release something; a belief, a habit, a heartbreak, a whole era some of us dump the whole box at once, and some of us lay it down gently, one item at a time. There’s no right or wrong way. Just our way.

I don’t know the science behind why one tree sheds in a single sigh and another takes weeks, or why some stay evergreen. I just know it’s by design.

And so are we.

It reminded me that letting go doesn’t need to match anyone else’s style or timing. You get to release in the way that honors your spirit. Rapid fire or slow drip both are sacred.

The time change hit hard this year.
That cozy-but-tired feeling, the early dark, the weird in-between.

After a tough year, I decided to stop fighting it and start reframing it.
I can’t control the sun, but I can control how I move through the season.

So I made some shifts: mindfulness every morning, a steady bedtime, and daily walks to soak up the light while it’s here.

It’s working. My energy feels steadier, and I’m learning to embrace what is instead of wishing it away.

Now to find a way to love that crunch of snow under my feet… which looks like it’s coming sooner than I’d like. ❄️

Nigel is not a normal dog. Because why would I ever have or want one. So when it's time to go potty, we have to walk. Rain or shine. Luckily he doesn't mind. There's simply no excuses. So we gear up and go!

I haven't played in puddles in forever so I took full advantage.
Nigel wasn't impressed with my water frolicking but we both had fun. He tried to chase a squirrel and I kicked water. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣😎

I wanted to take a moment to do a shout out like the proud mother that I am!!!! Congratulations to my son who just did his swearing for his re-enlistment!

In the midst of a shutdown including pay uncertainty, this guy reenlisted to protect & serve his country. I'm so proud of him and the family that makes the sacrifice right along with him.

Thank you for your day to day sacrifice for all of us, including those who really don't deserve it, but you continue on nonetheless.

Grateful for an excellent growing season. This is just a tiny sample of what's going on in my gardens. Herbs are going crazy, flowers are popping and vegetables are showing off! This is the only affordable groceries around here! Worth all the dirty fingernails, weeding,insect & bunny battles!
