Hope Clinic of Garland was recognized under the National Committee for Quality Assurance PPC-PCMH program from 2026-2027.

The Recognition Programs are built on evidence-based, nationally recognized clinical standards of care.

“NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition raises the bar in defining high-quality care by emphasizing access, health information technology and coordinated care focused on patients,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane. “Recognition shows that Hope Clinic of Garland has the tools, systems and resources to provide its patients with the right care, at the right time.”

Thanks to Parkland Health, we now have the technology to bridge the gap and virtually eliminate language and cultural barriers in healthcare with our new Language Line. 💻

Having a Language Line in the clinic is crucial for several reasons. Patients with limited English proficiency often face difficulties understanding medical information, expressing their symptoms accurately, and actively participating in their own care. These barriers contribute to health disparities and can result in misdiagnoses, inadequate treatment, higher readmission rates and lower patient satisfaction.

A message from our Executive Director as we celebrate Black History Month:

As an African American woman, Black History Month always gives me a moment to pause and reflect. I think about the strength, resilience, and sacrifice of those who came before us — the ones who fought not only for civil rights, but for equal access to education, opportunity, and healthcare.

Access to quality healthcare has always been a justice issue in our community. And while we’ve made progress, we know that disparities still exist — especially for Black women.

That’s one of the reasons Hope Clinic of Garland means so much to me.

Hope Clinic isn’t just a healthcare provider. It’s a place where care is compassionate, culturally aware, and rooted in dignity. It’s a space where people feel seen, heard, and respected. In a world where many African American women have faced barriers to care, that kind of environment matters deeply.

Historically, Black women have had to advocate for ourselves in healthcare settings. Spaces like Hope Clinic help restore trust. They remind our community that our health matters. Our voices matter. We matter.

To me, supporting Hope Clinic is one way we honor Black history — by investing in the health and wellbeing of this generation and the next.

Hope Clinic represents progress, empowerment, and most of all… hope. 💙

Yesterday, as a member of the UT Southwestern Simmons Cancer Center Community Advisory Board, our CEO Sydney I Portilla-Diggs joined fellow board members — including city council member Ed Moore — for a site visit at Hope Clinic of Garland, Inc. served by Executive Director Tanya Downing

These moments of connection are powerful. Coming together across organizations and sectors opens new avenues to expand impact and explore meaningful collaboration in neighboring cities. At Any Step, we believe that strong relationships and shared purpose are essential to building healthier, more resilient communities. We’re excited about what’s possible when we learn from one another and work together.

New patient alert🚨 David is a new patient here at Hope Clinic, and today is his first appointment. He was so excited that he arrived 30 minutes early 😂He was referred by his mother, who is also a patient at the clinic.

David works in construction and owns a moving company. 🚚
