North Texas Grave Tenders

North Texas Grave Tenders North Texas Grave Tenders is full-service cemetery restoration and beautification service that is family-owned & operated.

North Texas Grave Tenders is a Texas limited liability company, located on the southern edge of Collin County of North Texas with easy access to all of North Texas. We are a family-run business that have lived in this immediate area for over 35 years. Having been a member of several heritage societies and an amateur genealogist, we have spent hundreds of hours in cemeteries doing research and taking pictures of gravestones and have seen the need for the service that we now can provide in this area. We have many years experience on the correct and most environmentally-friendly way to take care of your loved ones' final resting place with the care and dignity you desire. When you can't visit the grave site of your loved one or maintain it as often as you'd like, either because of distance, lack of transportation, infirmity, or ill health, then let North Texas Grave Tenders take care of it for you. We can deliver flowers on a regular schedule or if the gravestone is in need of cleanup or restoration, we can make it look almost as good as new. We truly love what we do and perform every task with loving care and respect. We have identified exclusive products and processes that allow us to safely clean, polish, and restore memorials to near new condition at a reduced cost. Where other services use power washers and harsh chemicals, we use a soft brush and ECO friendly solutions. In this way we preserve the monument's original beauty and protect the environment while reducing the cost of restoration. We have the ability to take care of all the needs of an individual grave site or an entire cemetery. Remember, that while most cemeteries do a wonderful job of taking care of the grounds around your friends and loved ones, they are not responsible for the care and maintenance of individual gravestones. North Texas Grave Tenders is here to take care of that for you, as little or as often as you need.

Have seen many strange things in the cemetery. But this one is right up there near the top. Went to Decatur-Maxwell Cemetery, in Murphy, TX this morning to clean off the excess epoxy from my topper repair a few weeks back and take some pictures (weeds were too tall - so no pictures), and scout out good opportunities for this year to clean. The attached pic is what I came across sitting just like you see it next to a stone I cleaned.......A Quija Board......Seriously, just sitting there by itself in front of the tombstone. I did check back a few times, to make sure it had not moved......LOL, so I moved it about 6 inches which should freak out whoever put it there......

This is the last of the 13 Union Soldiers buried in Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas that we fully restored. It belongs to Dr. Oscar H. Calhoun (1845-1890) - a Private in Company C of the 117th Illinois Infantry. It stands almost 5 feet tall, and there are matching monuments for his wife and daughter right next to him (not shown) that we cleaned also. It is an impressive site to drive into the cemetery and see these 3 standing out and above all the others. Note the color in the base.....

Say hello to the Infant Poindexter in Decatur-Maxwell Cemetery in Murphy, TX. This one was a real challenge with 1/8" - 1/4" thick black mold covering over 80% of the monument. Once cleaned it is a very unique piece.
