Thank you so much to everyone that came last week or sent a message wishing me well on my retirement. The Birth Center has had a fragrance all week from the beautiful flowers that many of you brought.
Words can not express what an honor it was to be recognized by so many precious families and ladies. To say I was overwhelmed would be an understatement. I have been so touched by all of the recognition. My life has been so enriched by so many.
It was so wonderful to see so many of my sister midwives as well.
A big shout out to Linda Spositi, Renee Stewart, Anna Bohannon and Rachel Spears for all of your help.

Dear FCMC Family and Friends,
I wanted to let everyone know about some changes that are taking place at the center in the coming weeks. Midwife Hali has left FCMC and is starting her own private practice. This has been in the works for quite some time now. She is going to still be available for assisting and for taking call in the next few months as we make this transition. I wish her the very best in her new endeavor. As of 12/31/22 please call, text or message me (Joyce) instead of Hali.
I am currently trying to sell the birth center and practice, but as of yet have had no serious inquiries. I am unsure at this point what will happen at the center. If I can find a buyer for the practice, it may continue if not the birth center will close as of April 1, 2023.
I will be taking a sabbatical beginning April 1st with the birth of my 9th grandchild in Georgia. After I am contemplating setting up practice in Lindale, Texas.
Being a part of your lives and the birth of your babies has meant more to me than words can express, and it is extremely difficult for me to say good-bye to midwifery and the families I have served over the last 25 years. I am however looking forward to a slower pace of life and career.
I want to thank you all for allowing me to be a part of your lives and entrusting your care and the birth of your little ones to me and the other midwives of Family Centered Maternity Care. You will always hold a special place in my heart.
