We'd love to take a moment to to highlight our Executive Director, Nekandra Coulter, who stepped into the role last year

Nekandra brings not only experience in counseling but an genuine passion for helping others heal, grow, and thrive. Everyday she helps guide our organization in providing compassionate counseling services for those who need it most.

Whether supporting our team, advocating for mental health awareness, or connecting with the community, Nekandra leads with empathy and purpose.

We are thankful to have such a dedicated leader at the helm.

Today our counselors Kristen Troy, Stephanie Crowe, and Loree Huggins had the opportunity to attend the Annual Mental Health Convening and connect with so many passionate professionals dedicated to supporting mental health in our communities.

Hearing from counselors, mental health advocates, teachers, nurses, police officers, and parents reminded us how important collaboration and open conversations are when it comes to creating meaningful change.

Grateful for the connections, the knowledge shared, and the people doing this important work every day.

As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we honor the incredible vision that started it all. In 1986, Susan Hennum and Maria Molett founded The Counseling Institute of Texas with a heartfelt mission to serve the community through compassionate mental health care.

What began as a vision to support individuals and families has grown into a lasting commitment to healing, growth, and hope for so many in our community. We are grateful for the foundation they built and proud to continue their mission of making a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Here’s to the legacy they created and to many more years of caring for our community. 🎉
