Doctors Day recognition by Medi Healthcare

We had to extend National Doctor’s Day…to recognize Dr. Shaikh. 🩺

Meet Dr. Ghulam Shaikh… Shaikh Medical Clinic Garner NC
Dr. Shaikh completed medical school from Sind Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan in 1987. He completed residency in both surgery and medicine before proceeding to New York to complete residency at residency in Internal Medicine from New York Methodist Hospital, affiliated with Cornell University, New York. He moved to Belhaven, NC in 1996 to practice Internal Medicine, establishing and supervising a new ICU at Pungo District Hospital. During this time, he also served as Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical preceptor for medical students from Brody Medical School, East Carolina University. ✏️

Dr. Shaikh then moved to Research Triangle to start his private practice, Shaikh Medical Clinic in Garner, NC. Dr. Shaikh has extensive experience in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and minor surgeries and has been a Board-Certified Physician with ABIM and with National Board of Physicians and Surgeons. Additionally, he is also a member and fellow of American College of Physicians, FACP. Dr. Shaikh completed Masters, MHS-CLP from Duke University, NC in 2009. In 2020, he ventured into Medical Aesthetics with the opening of MarSha MedSpa, an onsite medical spa inside Shaikh Medical Clinic which provides services including regenerative medicine, injectables, laser and radio frequency treatments.🩺

As a part of Wake AHEC, Dr. Shaikh trains medical and nursing students from Duke, UNC Chapel Hill and Campbell University. He is also an adjunct clinical professor at UNC Chapel Hill School of Nursing. He also serves as the Medical Director of Brian Center Nursing Home and Rehab Center in Clayton. Dr. Shaikh believes in building community liaisons and is a founding member of Mariam Clinic- serving the local uninsured population of Wake and Durham counties. He also works with various home health agencies to improve patient care at home.🏥

The Shaikhs’ have 3 boys, older boys are in college and youngest one in high school. Dr Shaikh’s wife, Mariya was instrumental in the opening of Marsha Med Spa. She is very active and spends her time serving the community, especially the poor and needy community of triangle.❤️

Dr Shaikh enjoys his free time exploring the nature. He spends his free weekends hiking trails across the Triangle and NC state. He loves to travel and enjoys sight seeing at Mountain trails, especially at Blue Ridge Mountains. Dr Shaikh also has special affection with water. He takes frequent trips to NC beaches 🏝
