A big thank you to everyone who joined us last week for the Walking Club's final meetup at Santa Fe Park! Our team was on hand for health checks, and Dr. Mackenzie Peterson, a family medicine doctor at the Family Care Center, provided an introduction to the outdoor Fitness Court, demonstrating fun ways to adapt the equipment for all fitness levels and abilities.

"Exercise is not just about losing weight and looking good," Dr. Peterson said. "You need to keep moving to keep your body healthy and feeling good."

It was inspiring to see so many community members taking steps toward better health. We appreciate the ongoing efforts of Friends of the Prairie Spirit Trail in fostering fitness and healthy living throughout our community!

Summer is a season of warmth and light, but for older adults, it can also bring unique mental health challenges. While the sunny season offers opportunities for connection and activity, it’s important to recognize how summer impacts emotional well-being. Programs like group therapy can be a valuable resource to help older adults thrive during the summer months and beyond.
