Happy National Marriage Week! Our Director of Nursing, Dawn Mast, has been married to her husband, Denny, for 35 years.

February 4th was National Homemade Soup Day so we held our Annual Soup Cook Off here at the facility. Residents, staff, and visitors taste tested Creamy Chicken Noodle, Loaded Potato, Taco, Sweet Potato, and Chicken Alfredo Soups. All of them were delicious. Our winners in the Soup Cook Off were:

1st place: Carianne Holly for her Chicken Alfredo Soup (Carianne is now the 1st place winner 2 years in a row).
2nd place: Misty Reisinger for her Sweet Potato Soup
3rd place: Laura Etter for her Taco Soup

Congratulations to all our winners and thank you to all who participated.

Today is Thank a Mail Carrier Day! The residents look forward to receiving mail, especially cards and letters from their friends and family. If you have a friend or family member here at Miller's, why not drop a card in the mail to them today. We are sure it would make their day! Our activities staff deliver the resident's mail to them daily.

Not all angles have wings. Some have scrubs. The nurses at Miller's at Garrett go above and beyond for our residents, families, and team. This job is tough and hard at times, but the true heart of our nurses is at the center of what they do.
