That's me when I started to practice Pilates in the year 2000. After many years of Football I was super stiff, my hamstring were blocking my flexion and my hip flexors were blocking my pelvis. a total disaster. Pilates has been a super struggle to me, very frustrating. One sentence my Master Ron Fletcher always told me, kept me challenging myself until now: "Intention is Everything". I wasn't able to do many movements, my my intention was there. Now that I'm fifty my body is definitely healthier than when I was 20. I'm sure many of you know the feeling :* Please share your experience if you feel like :*

If I’ve climbed a mountain, I feel like sitting. Otherwise I rarely feel good being forced to sit, and I am nearing 60!

It’s curious to me that we need ‘proof’ that children are better off moving, when left to their own devices, they move, tumble, fidget, etc. Probably desk heights should be adjustable to allow for sitting & standing.

I know some of you are passionate about this! Can’t wait to hear your 2 cents.

A clear explanation offering some of the reasons manual assistance isn’t helpful in yoga—or pilates. I’ve been unlearning this habit the last decade!

Ahh, yoga pet peeves. We all have them. As someone who studies movement science and also loves her yoga, I admittedly have a few. One of my biggest gripes is when teachers touch me without asking. Out in the real world, this (thankfully) isn’t a problem, but in the yoga room, it’s strangely rare...

"Today, three-quarters of adults are overweight or obese, according to the country’s health ministry. Officials have been particularly alarmed by childhood obesity rates that are among the world’s highest, with over half of 6-year-old children overweight or obese."

Bravo Chile! Trying to fight the obesity epidemic by highlighting the adverse effects of sugar, banning the use of logos to attract children to sugary foods, restricting advertising during the day, black labels on sugary foods, and more!

The economic cost of obesity? Paying for early onset diabetes, earlier heart disease, orthopedic problems from joint stress........I wish we had an 18% tax on sugar products.

New regulations, which corporate interests delayed for almost a decade, require explicit labeling and limit the marketing of sugary foods to children.

Experts who usually specialize in extreme exercise are noticing that breathwork can help with endurance and recuperation. And stress, of course.
