The multifaceted healing practice of yoga has the potential to offer each practitioner an abundance of benefits which cover all aspects of our being; physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual. From this shift naturally flows a deeper connection not only within our own lives, but also helps us feel connected to others, and to this beautiful earth which sustains us. I believe that the shift in consciousness which can be found through the practice of yoga has the potential to heal the world. I also believe that the practice is available to anyone and everyone who is called to explore it. The only requirements are the ability to breath, and an open mind...even a skeptical one. At this time, there is a large variety of yoga studios and classes available for those who wish to explore the practice. However, there are large sections of the population for whom most yoga classes are not available, appropriate, or accessible. I feel it is my duty to seek out and serve those people who believe that yoga is not for them, and to guide them in the discovery that all the benefits of this ancient practice are available for everyone. Erin has been athletic and active since a very young age. She was drawn to yoga in her mid-twenties desiring the physical benefits she had been hearing the “buzz” about in the fitness world...she stayed because the benefits she had begun to unlock went way beyond the physical body and started her on a path of growth, self-discovery, and self-love. In May 2017, Erin completed her 200-hour teacher training at her home studio, Tadasana in Balance in Fishkill, NY. She confidently began teaching right away, but had a thirst for more knowledge and self growth. After learning about a 300-hour training with nOMad Always at Om, she felt so inspired by the teachers and intrigued and excited by the training’s content, she almost felt she had no choice but to apply. Now with 500 hours of training behind her, she feels emboldened as well as highly confident in her ability to share the blessings of yoga with as many people as she can reach. Erin’s teaching style has been described as thorough, confident, inspiring and compassionate. She utilizes the philosophical teachings of the ancient practice to guide students to stay mindfully present in their asana practice, and encourages taking this practice out into everyday life. She has a strong understanding of and love for anatomy, and places a strong emphasis on the importance of safe alignment before moving deeper in any pose. She asserts that how a student feels in a posture is more important than finding the fullest expression of a pose. With a deep respect for the differences between each student, she is able to hold space for all bodies, and encourages students to observe themselves in their practice with playful curiosity and without judgment.
