This month's Staff Spotlight is on Teresa Brennan! Teresa has been in our Laundry Department for nearly 4 1/2 years. She does appointment transportation for our neighbors as well! We're Blessed to have this multi-talented and caring lady be someone we call family. Here's what Teresa wanted to share about herself:

Hello! My name is Teresa Brennan!
I would like to be known as a good co-worker and friendly. I grew up and went to school in Garrison North Dakota. My family includes: Dave Rud (my man). Clarence and Diane Madsen (parents), Lexi ,Sophi, Khloe, Tristan (grandkids), Michelle and Cindy (sisters), Tasha and Chris (children) .
My favorite memory of my family is that I had a good rearing. My hobbies I enjoy include boating and fishing and riding side by side. I had a Chihuahua named Pablo who passed in 2017. I am currently working in the Laundry at Benedictine Living Community (BLCG). I am CNA certified and work at the BLCG and I have also worked at the hospital as CNA. I really enjoy Mexican and Chinese food. My favorite music is Rock. I really like Football. My all-time favorite movie is “Grease”. My favorite TV show is “Court TV”. I do not really enjoy reading but I do enjoy listening to the radio and my favorite station is the “Walleye”. I was a board member for the Garrison Ambulance back in the day. A special memory I would like to share is I love my family that I am most proud of and my Man! I have the best work family! Something few people know about me but would be surprised to discover: I drink decaf coffee and I LOVE MEXICO! If I could have a wish granted it would be to be rich of course!!!

In recognition of National Speech-Language-Hearing Month, the focus is on communication. From sharing basic needs to connecting with loved ones, communication is at the heart of daily life. When a person has a speech, language, or cognitive disorder, even simple interactions can become challenging—for them and for the caregivers who support them. With the right strategies, caregivers can reduce frustration and confusion, support independence and confidence, strengthen relationships and daily routines and improve quality of life for those in their care. With professional support and learning practical tools tailored to each person, everyday moments can become more meaningful and manageable.

In a bitter sweet moment, our neighbors and students from Bob Callies Elementary School came together for one last event before the school year ends. We are so Blessed to be a part of this mutually beneficial collaboration. A big Thank You to Shelly Fuller for keeping this tradition alive!

At Benedictine Garrison, we chose to "Embrace the tacky" . Neighbors and associates dressed in gaudy and mismatched outfits, enjoyed odd pairings of snacks and drinks, and celebrated garish decor, proving that we can find a great time anywhere!
