Observed each year on April 7th, World Health Day is led by the World Health Organization (WHO) to highlight priority areas in global public health and inspire action toward healthier communities.
The WHO reminds us that “health is a fundamental human right.” At Gaston County Public Health, we are proud to support this mission by working to ensure all patients/residents have access to the resources, education, and care they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives.
Health extends beyond clinical care- it includes safe environments, mental well-being, access to nutritious foods, and strong community support systems.
Today, we encourage you to take a step toward better health- whether it’s scheduling a check-up, spending time outdoors, prioritizing your mental health, or supporting a neighbor.
Together, we can advance health equity and build a stronger, healthier Gaston County for all.
