Before your kids head back to school, try a quick backpack weight check. Heavy backpacks can cause back pain, poor posture and long-term spinal issues. A loaded backpack should never exceed 10-15% of your child's body weight. That means:

🎒 50 lb child = max 5-7.5 lbs in backpack
🎒 70 lb child = max 7-10.5 lbs in backpack

Try adding a regular day of supplies to their pack and use a bathroom scale or luggage scale to do a quick check at home. If the backpack is too heavy, consider removing non-essential items or using a rolling backpack, as the school allows. We are wishing you and your family a healthy and safe school year!
