What to Ask Your Pharmacist is back!
Today's topic: "REFILLS".

How early can I refill my prescription?
Most pharmacies and insurance plans allow refills a few days before you run out—typically 3 to 7 days early.
For controlled substances, the timing may be stricter and regulated by state law.

Can I refill all my prescriptions at the same time?
Pharmacists can often “synchronize” your medications so you pick them up together once a month.
This is called Medication Synchronization or Med Sync, and it helps avoid multiple trips and missed doses.

Can you send me reminders or set up automatic refills?
Many pharmacies offer text/email reminders or even automatic refill programs so you never forget.

What if I’m traveling?
Ask if they can provide an early refill for travel.
For longer trips, they may coordinate with your doctor or insurance for a temporary override.
