We had such a fun time in crafts today. They made balloon pumpkins for the start of the fall season. Some say it was interesting, others say it was challenging, but there was more laughter during this one hour than ever before. What a great Jazz in July event we had on Friday. We had a surprise musical guest, Julian Wilson, join us, and he performed jazz, Motown and spiritual music.

The dining staff made us a wonderful sampling of New Orleans pasta dish filled with shrimp and sausage. It was just like being in Cajun country.

What a fun afternoon we had!

Congratulations to Melinda, our Everyday Hero for the month of June.

Melinda is such a dedicated and loyal member of the team here at Brookdale Robinwood. She loves her residents so much and treats them like one of the family.

Melinda has a wonderful blended family with a newlywed husband, 8 grown children, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. This woman has a heart of gold.

Congratulations, Melinda, you are so deserving of this award.

The residents got a new activity yesterday, and it’s called the Brookdale Putting Green.

Many residents came down excited to see the new putting green, and some were anxious to give it a try, but eventually we took turns, and some even learned how to putt. It was so wonderful to see the smiles and hear the laughter from them.

What a great addition to the activities that was!
