Exciting news! Our first Meditation Class was a success! 🌿

Today, we launched our 4-week Guided Meditation Class, and we were thrilled to welcome four participants eager to embark on a journey of mindfulness and self-discovery.

This class is led by Bishop Martin Wilson, an NLP Practitioner, Master Life Coach, and the Resident Program Coordinator at Brookdale Union Gastonia. With his extensive experience in coaching and leadership, Bishop Wilson brings a unique and insightful approach to meditation, helping participants explore the fundamentals of mindfulness and its many benefits for both the mind and body.

Over the next four weeks, participants will learn practical techniques to reduce stress, enhance focus, and cultivate a greater sense of peace in their daily lives. Whether you’re new to meditation or looking to deepen your practice, this class offers valuable guidance and support every step of the way.

We are excited to see the growth and transformation ahead and invite you to follow our journey as we explore the power of meditation together.

Residents at Brookdale Union had a fantastic time recently enjoying delicious treats from a donut truck! 🍩

The Donut I LOVE U truck rolled in, serving up hot, fresh mini donuts made right before their eyes. With a variety of toppings and flavors, everyone found something to satisfy their sweet tooth. The event was not just about the donuts; it was a wonderful opportunity for residents to gather, socialize, and create joyful memories together.

Decking the Halls at Brookdale! ✨🎄

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! This week, our Brookdale family came together for a cherished tradition: decorating ONE of our Christmas trees! Residents, staff, and volunteers shared laughter, stories, and holiday cheer as we hung ornaments, wrapped garland, and placed the crowning star atop the tree. 🌟

The room was filled with festive music, the aroma of hot cocoa, and warm hearts as we celebrated the joy of the season. Each ornament holds a story, and together, they make our tree a reflection of the beautiful community we share.

🌊🐠 **Brookdale Residents Dive into Fun at Concord Aquarium!** 🐠🌊

Last Friday, our Brookdale family took an exciting trip to the Concord Aquarium, and what a splash it was! 🎉 Residents were thrilled to explore the mesmerizing underwater world, marveling at colorful fish, graceful jellyfish, and even playful otters.

From learning about the deep-sea wonders to sharing laughs over lunch at the aquarium café, the day was filled with joy, curiosity, and bonding. Our group even had the chance to enjoy a special behind-the-scenes tour, giving us a closer look at how the aquarium cares for its marine life.

Trips like these remind us of the beauty of discovery and the importance of community. 🐟💙 A heartfelt thank you to our team and volunteers who made this memorable day possible!

Our first book for the Brookdale Union Book Reading Club was "Love's Second Blossom," written by our very own Activity Coordinator, Bishop Martin Wilson. This touching love story follows a couple who reunite after many years apart, discovering each other once again within the Brookdale facility. During our discussion, members shared their reflections on the characters' emotional journeys and the themes of love, nostalgia, and second chances. The narrative beautifully illustrates how time and life experiences shape relationships, resonating with many of us in the room. Bishop Wilson's heartfelt story, read by one of the female residents, captivated everyone, sparking conversations about our own experiences with love and connection. It was a wonderful way to kick off our reading journey together! We look forward to more enriching discussions in the future.
