The Gastonia Potters is a faith-based program for women struggling with substance abuse/alcoholism and other life-threatening issues. The program length is 18 months and consists of two phases. The first phase of the residential program is centered around building a relationship with Jesus and breaking down the old habits associated with addiction. This is done through participation in individual

counseling, group counseling, bible classes, volunteering, and various activities geared toward leading clients into an abundant life free of drugs. We partner with many local churches to serve and to build relationships that last long past graduation from the program. We believe that family involvement is often essential, and we offer counsel to families of clients as well. In the second phase of the program, clients begin their journey to re-enter the workplace or enhance their educational development. Developing positive characteristics such as strong work ethics, budgeting time and money, and responsibility are all of great importance to clients in this stage of their recovery. We encourage clients to begin preparing for their future as they enter into the final months of treatment. Upon program graduation, we offer follow-up meetings and keep in close contact with post-clients to ensure success and accountability. We are a non-medical facility and clients are required to be drug free for 72 hours before entry. The office staff can assist with detox center recommendations if necessary. Congratulations to Heather!! She has been at GPH for 16 months today. She has had a steady job since October and a car and graduates in June. We are so proud of her and love her very much. She also has an adorable 3 year old daughter. God has restored her family and her life.
