An ABA layup!
Does your child love to throw things? You’re not alone. Throwing is often a way children explore movement, release energy, or communicate frustration.
Instead of stopping the behavior completely, try giving them safe and appropriate ways to meet that need. Create opportunities to throw soft balls into a basket, toss bean bags, play catch, or aim objects at a target. Teaching when and where throwing is okay helps children learn boundaries while still meeting their sensory and movement needs.
Sometimes behavior is communication. The goal is to guide it, not just stop it!
