Our monthly meeting had great involvement from our club members. Assistance Club Manager and Rifle Coach, Travis Van Bibber, hosted a program on eye dominance. This is always a great practice to have each member demonstrate. Grady won the raffle and is the proud owner of a new ammunition poster and Club Manager and Coach Hugh Nielsen brought his homemade jerky to share with the group. We will have our last meeting of the season in April so please try to join us as we will discuss and vote for next year's practice and meeting days/times and vote for next year's officers. At our monthly Coryell 4H Gun Club meeting on Wednesday night, Rifle Coach Laura Blackman gave a program on different types of sights. Member attendance at our monthly meetings is a good way to stay informed of our club business and updates from our officers, coaches and members.

Thankful we dodged the heavy rain for February's practice on Saturday. This is competition season so our club practices are vital. Our club will hold practice as long as there is not a severe weather threat. We have a covered pavilion for shooting light rifle so if our members can get a few rounds of target practice in, we try our best to let them.

First practice of 2026 was bright and sunny with a fiercely cold wind! Thank goodness for our recent trailer move to ground level. It provided us a place to have our practice intro, safety training, and a short reprieve for our shooters during practice.

December practice started with a thorough safety training by Coach Joe Jones and followed with a solid light rifle target practice. A great way to end 2025. We're looking forward to continuing our monthly practices for the upcoming competition season.
