Huge shout out to ProVision Probiotics
Long post but worth the read.
We received a vet referral for rehab for a 17 month old Golden Retriever rescued from an extremely neglectful situation. Literally skin over bones. He was unable to stand or walk on his own and the cause was unknown. Euthanasia was recommended but the rescue decided he was worth trying to save. The vet recommended he come to us for rehabilitation on the aquatread while they continued to run diagnostics and do some genetic tests. He was put on a prescription GI food to help him gain weight but he refused to eat much of it or anything else. During a therapy session I was listening to the foster mom’s frustration in trying to figure out something to help him eat. I grabbed our provision K9 tub and scooped out a 2 week supply and asked her to please try it. She agreed. The following weeks he was eating better, slowly gaining weight and muscle. He had more energy and stamina and was doing great with his therapy, making improvements each session. This week the foster mom said he had stopped eating again. I thought for a second and then asked if she was out of the Provision. She said yes but she didn’t think it had really done much. I asked when she ran out? She stopped and looked at me as it dawned on her, and said “right before he stopped eating again.” I told her it was probably doing much more than she realized. I grabbed a scoop and the second he smelled it he got so excited and ate it right out of Rick’s hand as fast as he could, licking up anything that spilled out. The foster mom was shocked. Later that day she texted me this:
“Hey, I have to share. Brady’s eating like he hasn't eaten in months. It had to be that full scoop of powder. The best part is I was hand feeding him a snack and I wasn't feeding it quick enough so he decided to put his head in the bowl and eat. It had to be at least 2 chicken breasts.”
If I didn’t already know (from my own experiences) what an amazing product Joe Hoffman makes, this would have sealed it for me. Best stuff out there for horses and dogs. Mine don’t go a day without it.
