MYTH: There’s one “correct” way to recover - and if you’re not doing it that way, you’re not serious.

FACT: Recovery is not one-size-fits-all. People heal through different combinations of support, treatment, peer connection, medication, counseling, community, faith, family, and practical tools.

MYTH: “They have to hit rock bottom before they’ll change.”

FACT: Rock bottom is not a requirement.
Rock bottom is often injury, incarceration, loss, or death.

People can change when they have:

connection instead of isolation

support instead of shame

options instead of ultimatums

a next step that feels possible
