Our nursing team has been busy. 💛
They put together this month’s Education of the Month board on Alcohol Awareness & Holiday Stress, and it’s too important to leave in the lobby, so we’re bringing it to your feed.
A few things they wanted everyone to see:
Excessive drinking adds up fast:
Binge drinking = 4+ drinks for women / 5+ for men on one occasion
Heavy drinking = 8+ drinks a week for women / 15+ for men
In the U.S., 488 people die every day from excessive alcohol use - that’s about 20 people every hour.
Alcohol increases the risk of several cancers (including throat, colon, breast, and liver cancer).
Adolescents are 4x more likely to drink when their parents binge drink.
And maybe most important this time of year: “It’s okay not to feel merry & bright.” Holidays can be hard. You are not alone.
If you’re struggling with alcohol, worried about a loved one, or just feeling the weight of the season, our recovery team is here to listen without judgment and help you find the next right step.

Thank you to our incredible nursing staff for caring enough to put this together, and to everyone who’s doing the hard work of taking an honest look at their relationship with alcohol. You matter, and help is always available. 💛🌻
