Wellness Wednesday
I'm going to talk again about grief. Let's talk about how we can help ourselves process our loss. We talk about self care, but this means different things to everyone. Some people are so consumed by the grief that it helps to have something to distract themselves, while others prefer having some time to sit in quiet thought. When trying to deal with strong emotions it is helpful to listen to our bodies and minds. What does it need. Do you need to cry, keep moving, sleep...don't fight all those emotions but let them sit "ride the wave" as they say. They will most likely feel pretty yucky but you mind needs time and space to really process everything it is feeling so it can learn to move on with this new empty space it now carries. I tell clients all the time...time doesn't heal anything, it just allows us to learn to be comfortable with the hole we now carry with us, the new scar so to speak.
