There’s nothing like a little friendly competition to brighten the afternoon! Residents recently gathered for a lively game of Jenga—and for many, it was their very first time playing.

Laughter, focus, and a few nail-biting moments filled the room as we stacked, strategized, and cheered each other on. Safe to say… Jenga is here to stay!

We’re already looking forward to the next round.

We love when our residents share their passions—and this one was truly unforgettable! One of our own recently gave a fascinating presentation on the 1893 Viking Ship, a replica of the Gokstad ship housed at Good Templar Park right here in Geneva.

As a volunteer with the project, he brought the ship’s incredible journey and legacy to life with stories, insight, and firsthand knowledge. And seeing the vessel in person made it all the more meaningful.

July is UV Safety Awareness Month — and sun protection is important at every age. For older adults especially, taking a few extra steps can help keep skin healthy and strong all summer long.

Here are a few simple tips:
• Wear lightweight clothing that covers arms and legs
• Use broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and reapply often
• Avoid peak sun hours (10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) when possible
• Don’t forget sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat

Protect your skin and enjoy the sunshine safely! ☀️

Summer has begun! At Covenant Living of Geneva we had the opportunity to have Hickory Knolls Discovery Center come and present on Butterflies. Residents learned about the differences between different Lepidoptera, lifecycles, and plants. The presentation was an excellent way to learn about the natural environment around us and continue ongoing learning. Thank you, Hickory Knolls!
