Join us this Thursday evening, August 28 for "Beyond the Silence," a special community event dedicated to raising awareness, supporting prevention efforts, and honoring those affected by mental health or substance use challenges, overdose and/or su***de loss.

We'll be at the Ecker Center for Behavioral Health, 1814 Grandstand Place in Elgin. Valley Hands of Hope is participating, along with local mental health organizations supporting mental health. This event is open to everyone impacted or concerned about these important issues. Thanks to the Kane County Health Department, Valley Hands of Hope's newest support group is S.O.L.S., for substance and overdose loss. We are excited to announce a special guest at the August 20th "Turning the Page" book club gathering.

Author Jason Rosenthal ("My Wife Said You May Want to Marry Me") will join us via Zoom for the second hour of our program. We'll start at 6:00 pm in the Oak Room at the Grief Hope Center and Jason will join the conversation at 7:00 pm.

As with all our services, there is no cost to attend, however registration is required. Books are available for check out at the St. Charles Public Library--St. Charles, IL in the book club section, or available for purchase at Town House Books with a 20% discount when you mention Valley Hands of Hope!

Have you seen the Fox Valley Hands of Hope banner in Mount St. Mary Park in St. Charles? Thanks to the St. Charles Arts Council for coordinating this wonderful project and free exhibit around the tennis courts and walking trail. Shout out to our Clinical Intern Sarah for creating this beautiful piece of art! Banners will be on display until the end of September.
