OBITUARY: Mr. Connie Faye Mock

Mr. Connie Faye Mock of Samson, Alabama was called home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. He was 89.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Joel Snell officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Mr. Connie was born November 15, 1936, in Coffee County, Alabama, to the late James Tennyson and Ila Mae Russell Mock. Prior to his retirement, he worked for Citrus Central aka Crown Cork & Seal as a machinist/welder for more than 25 years. To many, he was affectionately known as “The Candy Man” because of his love of distributing Werther’s Original candies everywhere he went. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed working in his yards and keeping them neat and tidy. As of late, he mostly enjoyed sitting in his chair and watching his favorite western shows on television. Mr. Connie was of the Assembly of God faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Josephine Joyce Hull Mock; four siblings, Ray, Dois and James Mock and Faye Wood.

Mr. Connie is survived by his children, Greg Mock (Carol) of Stafford, VA and Amy Gay (Brian) of Leesburg, FL; four granddaughters, Caitlin Mock of IL, Abigail Mock of Orlando, FL, Skylar Gay and McKenzy Gay, both of Leesburg, FL; four siblings, Evelyn Burnett of Orlando, FL, Sarah Lambert (Steve) of Elkton, MD, Ronnie Mock (Cathy) of Samson, AL and Donald Mock (Joan) of New Brockton, AL, and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

OBITUARY: William (Bill) H. Morris, II

William (Bill) H. Morris II, lovingly known as "Wink," passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026. Bill was a cherished member of the Wiregrass Area who touched countless lives through his passion for music and tennis. As a talented drummer, he played in numerous bands over the years, beginning with Dickey Merritt and the Bama Jam Band in the 1970s. His musical journey continued with groups such as Black Creek Boogie Band, Bama Breeze Band, and Classics, leaving a lasting impression on audiences throughout the region.

For the last seven years prior to his stroke, Bill shared his musical gifts with the band "Generations" at First Methodist Church in Enterprise, AL, enriching worship services and community events. Beyond music, Bill was a dedicated tennis pro, inspiring and teaching many students in the Wiregrass area. His contributions to the sport were recognized on May 19, 2023, when the city of Enterprise honored him by declaring "Bill Morris Tennis Day" and naming the city's tennis facilities The William H. (Bill) Morris Tennis Complex.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, William H. Morris, and step-mother, Eloise Morris of Geneva, AL; and his mother, Mildred Thompson Paul of Butler, AL. He is survived by his son, William H. (Tripp) Morris, and wife Anne Maria of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Hampton Morris and Etta Morris of Marietta, GA; sisters Mildred Brett Morris Evans (James Dansby) of Butler, AL, and Donna Morris Gray (Scott) of Geneva, AL; brothers James Jay Morris (Sandy) of Samson, AL, and David Drew Morris (Renee) of Newnan, GA; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family extends a special thank you to Wiregrass Rehabilitation and Nursing Home, Phylis Smith, and Jeanette McNeal for their compassionate care and support. Bill will be remembered for his kindness, talent, and the lasting legacy he leaves in both music and tennis throughout the Wiregrass community.

OBITUARY: Roland Walter Frary

Roland Walter Frary, of Samson, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at the age of 89.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 17, 2026, in the Chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Eddins and Rev. Joel Snell officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Chapel Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward directing. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, January 16, 2026, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL.

Roland was born June 24, 1936, in Jamestown, NY to the late Marion Wheaten and Florence Pauline Frary. He was a man with great respect for his loving wife—Peggy Monk Frary for 57 years. He was also a loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Friend. He was a member of Holloway Tabernacle Assembly of God, and truly loved his church family. Roland served His Country in the Navy from 1954-1969; Navy Reserve from 1971-1984; in May of 1984, he transferred to US Army Reserve to be closer to His family. He worked as a Helicopter Mechanic until he retired in 1996. For many years he was an Avid Runner. He acquired the Nickname, “Snuff City Roadrunner.” He ran in many, many 5k races across the state of Alabama and even some in Florida.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, his brother Roger Eckland & sister Marcia Soto.

Survived by his daughters Terry Philips, Susan Jones (Bobby), Regina Henderson (Jeff) and his sons Randy Frary, Ryan Frary (Nikki); grandchildren; Chris Frary, Echo Olive (Josh) Amber Lyles (Joe), Justin Henderson, Haley Cooper (Zach), Lacee Frary and Alyssa Frary; greatgrandchildren; Lila, Carleigh, Cheyenne, Connor (the one he prayed for and God granted his Prayer), Bennet & one very special niece and her husband, Vicky and Bob Norris.

OBITUARY: Mary Frances Cotton

Mary Frances Cotton, born January 28, 1931, in Holmes County, Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the age of 94.

Mary Frances was married to Nathan Cotton in 1953. Together, they built a life centered around family. She spent most of her life as a devoted stay-at-home mother, a role she cherished deeply. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother and matriarch whose presence brought warmth and laughter to those around her.

She was known for her quick wit and sharp sense of humor, always ready with a joke or clever remark. A true Southern cook, Mary Frances showed her love through meals prepared for family and friends. In her quieter moments, she enjoyed reading and watching television, especially her favorite shows, Gunsmoke and The Waltons.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mary Sanders; husband, Nathan Cotton; son-in-law, Benny Helms; two brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her son, Doyle Cotton; daughters, Kathy Helms, Carol Adams (Randy) and Dianne Hornsby (Wyman); her grandchildren, Randy, Brandy, Mark, Michael, Trevor, Bailey and Kynsee; her great-grandchildren, Cotton, Reese, Kennedy, John Beckham, Brody, Natalie, Mary Kate, Kamp, Hunter, and Mikayla and her great-great grandchild, Everett.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2026 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL with Rev. Danny Burns officiating. Sue was born in Geneva County, AL on December 19, 1947, to the late Ezekiel Jeremiah “Jake” and Vivian Pauline Carnley White. She had made Florida her home for many years and had proudly served as a Seminole County Sheriff Deputy, one of only a very few hired in the earlier years. She was devoted to her career and helping make a difference in her community. Sue truly had the heart to serve and wore her badge proudly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry White and an infant brother, Danney G. White.

Sue is survived by her husband, William “Bill” Fisher; one son, Michael Stephenson (Georgia) and one step-daughter, Brenda Walker (Tim); three grandchildren, Zach McCann (Raven), Lilly Schneider and Aaron Schneider; two great grandchildren, Dexter and Mazi McCann; and four siblings, Carolyn McCollough (Mike), Gertrude Daniels, Larry White (Christine) and Ray White; and a number of special cousins and extended family.

OBITUARY: Connie McCall Marsh

Connie McCall Marsh, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, in Geneva, Alabama. She was born on September 29, 1946, in Lancaster, South Carolina.

Connie's journey began as the daughter of Connie B. and Dorothy Carolyn Jordan McCall, and she grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donnie Marsh, her parents, and her siblings Chucky McCall, Eugene Trant, Cuffie McCall, Carolyn Lolley, Vickey Dawson, and Artie May Starnes.

Connie's spirit lives on in the hearts of her four devoted children: Hoss Pate (Missy) of Geneva, AL, Mark Pate (Beverly) of Murphy, NC, Angie Holland (Gary) of Geneva, AL, and Roger Yarbrough (Tracey) of Geneva, AL. Her love also extends to her 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way, two great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Bobby Trant (Mellissa) of Geneva, AL.

Throughout her life, Connie was a faithful member of Midway Church, where she found great solace and community. Her commitment to her faith was evident in her daily practice of reading the Bible and her joy in attending church services. Connie's genuine and sweet spirit was a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.

Connie's passion for her family was unparalleled. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her presence at family gatherings will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will be treasured forever.

Marjorie Helen Wellman Anthony, age 95, a longtime resident of Sarasota, FL, and more recently of Westville, FL, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026. Born on September 15, 1930, to the late Percy and Sadie Fowler Wellman, Marjorie grew up surrounded by a host of siblings, whose memories she cherished throughout her life.

Marjorie's enduring legacy is perhaps best captured through the eyes of her family, particularly her beloved husband of 71 years, Charles Anthony. Together, they built a life full of love and commitment. She is also lovingly remembered by her caring daughter, Karen Larocca, and son-in-law Charles. Her grandson, Charles Bachand, his wife Christine, and her four great-grandchildren, Alyse, Leah, Isabella, and Anya. Marjorie's joy expanded with the arrival of three cherished great-great-grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness in her final years. Her memory will also be held dear by her numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, who were all touched by her sweet presence.

Known affectionately as Nana, Marjorie was the heart of her family. Her love for them was profound and expressed in countless, often understated ways.

Jimmy R. Zorn, age 78, of Samson, AL, passed away peacefully in his home on January 3, 2026, with his devoted wife by his side.

Born on April 22, 1947, in Samson, AL, Jimmy and Martha built a life rooted in steadfast dedication to the pillars he cherished most: his faith, his work, and above all, his family. A man of simple pleasures and profound integrity, he found joy in the reliable rhythms of life—a morning of fishing, a day spent working hard, and taking his grandchildren to the mountains.

Jimmy was a devoted husband to his wife of 56 years, Martha J. Zorn. In his final years, she cared for him with unwavering love and strength, a true testament to their enduring marriage. Together they built a home filled with warmth and hospitality, a central gathering place for the family he loved so dearly. He was a proud and supportive father to his children, Brett Zorn (Hannah) and Amy White (Michael), and a doting grandfather to his six grandchildren, Taylor Powers (Andrew), Emily Adams (Mason), Macey Singletary (Taylor), Garrett Zorn (Taylor), Millie Hall (Ian Walker), and Austin White (Alyssa). He took immense pride in their accomplishments and never missed an opportunity to share a life lesson, often while baiting a hook or tending to chores.

For many years, Jimmy was a dedicated manager at Geneva County Co-Op, Southern States, and Gold Kist in Geneva, AL, known for his strong work ethic and willingness to help others. He also served in the Army Reserves for over 23 years.

When he wasn't working, he could invariably be found pursuing his lifelong passion for fishing. Whether on the serene waters of the Pea River, Lake Eufaula or Black Creek, he was at peace with a rod and reel in hand. He also loved sharing this passion with his grandchildren, as well as taking them to swim in the river.

A faithful member of First Baptist Church of Samson, AL, where he served as deacon many years, Jimmy’s faith was the cornerstone of his life, providing strength and guiding his interactions with kindness and generosity.

Jimmy will be remembered by his friends and family for his warm smile and generous spirit. He leaves behind a legacy of love, hard work, and devotion that will continue to inspire all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, A. L. Zorn and Myrtle M. Zorn, as well as a sister, Carolyn Mathews, and two brothers, Donald Zorn and Gene Zorn. He is survived by his beloved wife, children, and grandchildren, his sister, Wanda Cannon and his brothers, Harold Zorn and Havard Zorn and numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

Graveside services to honor and celebrate Jimmy's life will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Eight-Mile Cemetery in the Reese/Flat Creek Community, with Danny Branch officiating and Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing.

John Frank was born on November 20, 1954 at Lakeside Hospital in DeFuniak Springs, FL to the late Adoffious “Adolph” and Earline Pryor Ward. His elementary school years were at Darlington School and he graduated from Walton High School in DeFuniak Springs, FL in 1972. John Frank was an intelligent thinking man who wore many different hats. He worked with his dad on the farm, in the family monument business at Ward Memorial Company, heavy equipment operator with Walton Co. Public Works, tinkering with Black Cloud Enterprises, planting pine trees and building fences. He loved collecting scrap metal and taking it to the junk yard and collecting him some money. You could say that he was truly a “jack of all trades”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother of 50 years, Mildred Gay Ward, maternal grandparents, Frank and Jane Pryor, paternal grandparents, John and Lena Ward; uncles, Terell Pryor, Loyce, Daniel, and David Ward; aunts, Nellie Pryor and Bobbie Jean Burkett and a special cousin, Jr. Pryor.

John Frank is survived by his cousins, Ted, Margaret, Sandra, Colleen, Jimmy, Steven, Jane, Jean, Jamie, Diane, and several more cousins, many special friends and acquaintances.

Private graveside services will follow in Hartford City Cemetery, for her children and grandchildren only, with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Judy was born in Covington County, AL on November 05, 1945 to the late Paul David and Wilie Clyde Adcock Morris. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who cared for her home and family. She was a faithful member of Devco Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Cecil Edward “Buddy” Cochran, Jr.; siblings, Barbara Salverson, Pete Morris, David Morris, Cheryl Morris Irish, Jim Morris and Tim Morris.

Judy is survived by two daughters, Sherry Seibenhener of Auburn, AL and Terri Whatley (Steven) of Troy, AL; one son, Cecil Cochran, III of Geneva, AL; three granddaughters, Rachel Shelton (Justin) of Auburn, AL, Brandi Logsdon (Jonathan of Geneva, AL and Casey Youngblood (Seth) of Hartford, AL; six great grandchildren, Jacob Cochran-Cline, Hunter Logsdon, Jaxson Peeks, Braelynn Youngblood, Aubree Youngblood, and Sutton Jaymes Shelton; two sisters-in-law, Debbie Morris and Viki Morris; one sister, Sharlene Andrade and one brother, Ken Morris; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Steven Whatley, Jonathan Logsdon, Justin Shelton, Seth Youngblood, Dylan Easterling and Colby Easterling.

Mrs. Brown was born in Bonifay, FL on June 02, 1941, to the late John Howard and Bernice Keith Sconiers. She enjoyed being in the outdoors and fishing. For many years, she sat with the elderly in their home as a caregiver. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother to her family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Rodney Keith Brown; four siblings, Jr., Rex, Eugene and Louise Sconiers.

She is survived by two sons, James “Rusty” Brown (Stacey) of Dothan, AL and Danny Brown (Rene) of Kinston, AL; eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.

OBITUARY: William Earl "Buck" Stafford

William Earl "Buck" Stafford, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, in Geneva, Alabama, at the age of 79. Born on May 10, 1946, in Tampa, Florida, Buck was a man whose warmth and jovial spirit brought laughter and joy to all who knew him.

Buck was predeceased by his loving parents, Samuel James Stafford, Sr., and Ethel Margaret Moyer Parker, as well as several dear brothers and sisters. His memory will be forever treasured by his surviving siblings: Judy Huggins (Bobby), Phyllis Lahaye, Jeff Hughes, Dewey Hughes, John Stafford (Cindy), Ada Biddle, and Francis "Penny" Stafford. His numerous nieces and nephews, to whom he was a constant source of fun and affection, will miss his playful teasing and the unique bond he shared with each of them.

Buck's zest for life was evident in his everyday activities. He had a passion for going shopping with his sister Ada, turning a simple outing into an adventure filled with laughter and camaraderie. His sense of humor was infectious, and he was always ready with a joke or a playful jab, ensuring that family gatherings were lively and filled with mirth.

A man of simple pleasures, Buck found contentment in working on puzzles, an activity that reflected his patient and meticulous nature. He was an avid fan of westerns, often immersing himself in tales of cowboys and the old frontier. Buck also enjoyed watching Ninja Warriors, cheering on the athletes and marveling at their feats of strength and agility.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Reese Baptist Church.
