We would like to introduce you to Beth Gardner, our Administrative Assistant and Equine Assistant. She is the wearer of many hats! Some days she is in the office working in insurance claims and intake, other days you’ll find her with the horses. She loves being able to help in both of her “offices”.

Our “work” retreat where we worked on learning calligraphy, belly laughs, hidden talents and basically anything other than any actual work. So many wonderful memories made last weekend with the best team there is ❤️

After Angel had her own therapy clinic for 5 years, she herself turned to Equine Therapy and took the chance of buying a farm and a full herd. Three Therapy horses, mini horse, donkey and dog later-Anchor Counseling is offers Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Learning. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is offered to our clients ages 11 and over, who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, mood issues and trauma history. Equine Assisted Learning to those who may not have mental health issues but struggle with anger, stress, difficulty expressing emotions or feeling stuck. Equine therapies are primarily based on the ground with the horse, rather than riding. Both programs are offered at Stable Minds, w Campton Hills Road in Elburn, IL. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy may be covered by your insurance.

Angel Hernandez Ianakiev is a Licensed Professional Social Worker, Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor and Certified in Perinatal Mental Health. With 15 years of experience in social services, her passion for helping others led her to found Anchor Counseling Inc. Conveniently located in the Western suburbs of Chicago, Anchor Counseling provides hope and guidance to individuals and families through expert therapy services. Angel specializes in women’s mental health needs and has completed training in Domestic Violence, Infertility, and Perinatal Mood Disorders. She works with children, adolescents and adults, personally and compassionately addressing their unique needs. Her therapy techniques and services treat many concerns including:
