Amy Kula has been the Social Services Director at Genoa Medical Facilities for the past 12 years and she added Activity Director to her role 3 years ago. Amy graduated from Genoa Public Schools and then attended Southeast Community College. Amy has worked in many different areas at Genoa Medical Facilities including CNA and Bath Aide and slowly worked her way to a director role. Amy is proud of the time she spent working alongside the CEO at the time drawing up the plans and developing and opening the Assisted Living. She said it was a challenging, but rewarding process.
Amy lives with her husband Steve on an acreage outside of Silver Creek. They have cattle and some crop ground. They have two grown sons, Tyler who is married and Trenton who is getting married soon. They have two Grand Dogs who live with them and a plethora of barn cats. When Amy isn’t working at Genoa Medical Facilities she enjoys being outside helping with farm chores, going for walks and sitting outside being in nature.
Amy’s favorite part about being the Director of Social Services and Activities at Genoa Medical Facilities is working with the families, residents and patients in all aspects of her roles. “I feel it is a great plus that I grew up in this town and a lot of the folks who I help, I have known most of my life,” said Amy. “I think it’s comforting to them knowing that they are working with someone they have known for years and perhaps makes their situation a little less scary.”
