Last night, Mexico’s new president, Claudia Sheinbaum, delivered El Grito de Dolores—the historic call for independence from Spain.

To honor this tradition, Marlene gave a heartfelt presentation, showed a video of the El Grito de Dolores, and passed out pan dulce, the beloved sweet pastries for Mexican Independence Day. This day holds deep meaning for her, as she embraces both her Mexican and Spanish heritage.

She concluded her presentation with a powerful reflection she found: “This is a night that reminds us of our strength, resilience, and unbreakable spirit—that one voice, one action, can ignite a movement that changes history.”

💙🥧 Who else has heard of the iconic Blue Bonnet Cafe - Marble Falls, TX? It’s truly a Texas treasure — the promised land of chocolate pies, sky-high meringue, and hot cakes bigger than your face! After learning they were affected by the flood, our travel group knew we had to make a trip to show our support for this remarkable restaurant.

Of course, no trip is complete without a little retail therapy! We strolled down Main Street, admired the fall décor & treated ourselves to amazing toffee samples at Choccolatte's and Ooh La La Home Decor 🍂✨

And because chocolate leads to cheese (naturally 😉), we popped into House of Cheese for divine samples and a few surprises. The highlight? Barbara’s hilarious tea towel purchase — it’s got us all asking, which page of the Bible really turns water into wine? 🍷📖

🎩✨ This evening, The Hacienda takes its place among the distinguished guests at the opening premiere of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, hosted at the splendid Flix Brewhouse Pub. 🍷🍿

As the curtain rises, we find ourselves once more in the company of the Crawley family and their loyal staff, who now face scandal and financial uncertainty in the 1930s. With dignity, wit, and grace, their story draws to a close—an end of an era, yet a celebration of all that Downton has meant to us.

It is, without question, a most fitting occasion to mark the grand finale in such fine company. 💫

🎉 We had an extra special celebration yesterday—our Executive Director, Annika DiNovi’s birthday! Mary Claire, our Senior Sales Associate, made her a custom red velvet cake. Red cake holds a special place in Annika’s heart as it’s been a treasured family tradition, making the surprise even more meaningful. ❤️🍰

🤘🧡 Hook ’em, Horns! 🧡🤘

We are so fortunate for our amazing partner, Michael from Tranquility Hospice Care A HUGE Longhorn fan, Michael brought his daughter to cheer with us and came fully prepared — complete with a UT orange cookie cake and all the chips and dips any football fan could dream of.

The energy was so high that the Longhorns pulled off a win against San Jose State! 🎉 What a fun way to celebrate team spirit and community.

When he is not hosting a football game over here, he plays the piano every 1st Friday in our Piano Parlor! Thank you, Michael, for all you do to support and uplift our Hacienda family — we’re lucky to have you on our team! 🧡

Meet Katlyn, our Senior Community Life Coordinator and our September Associate of the Month! Katlyn brings her passion for outreach and programming to everything she does, from planning extraordinary community events to uplifting small businesses and connecting people in meaningful ways.

One of her favorite memories is helping member Judi Stanfield share her children’s book with the Georgetown community. Their collaboration began at our Art Expressions Walkabout and continued when Katlyn connected Judi with local bookstore, Lark & Owl.

Outside of work, Katlyn enjoys hosting quirky parties with friends and family. She also has a love for anime, where she’s inspired by stories of friendship and overcoming the unimaginable, themes that echo in how she builds connections and helps others thrive. She also credits our Executive Director, Annika DiNovi, whose encouragement and guidance have inspired her to explore new avenues and bring her creative ideas to life. Congratulations, Katlyn, and thank you for all you do to make The Hacienda a place full of creativity and connection.

We’re working hard—or maybe hardly working 🤔💭—as we put the finishing touches on our “Boots On The Ground” kick-off event happening today! 🤠💜

It’s going to be an afternoon packed with fun, energy, and purpose as we rally together to support the Alzheimer’s Association.

We couldn’t be more excited for tomorrow’s “Boots On The Ground” Alzheimer’s Association Kick-Off Event! 🤠💜

For the second year in a row, we’ve been honored to host this incredible celebration — and this year’s theme says it all: “We’re putting our boots on the ground to find a cure!”

Adding a special touch, our very own resident artist Judi brought the theme to life with a stunning logo infused with Texas flair and her signature whimsical bugs — a hallmark of every Stanfield original! 🐛🐞

We are thrilled to recognize Arionana Washington as our August Associate of the Month! Arionana is one of our fantastic Med Techs who’s known for her friendly, kind nature, her incredible dependability, and her willingness to jump in and help wherever needed. Arionana was nominated by her fellow nursing teammate, Jaquilah Brantley, who shared that Arionana always goes above and beyond to make sure the residents and staff have everything they need.



When asked what this recognition means to her, Arionana said that it makes her feel like she’s doing something right. Arionana hopes to become a nurse one day and shared that she is inspired by Kelly Treisch, our Interim Resident Care Director, saying that the way Kelly handles things feels like it’s preparing her for when it’s her turn in the future.



Her favorite part of working at The Hacienda? Seeing the residents every day - a reflection of the deep care and compassion she brings to her role. Outside of work, Arionana dreams of traveling to Bali, drawn by it’s peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. She’s already planning her trip for next year to celebrate her golden birthday!
