Want to get ahead of potential heart problems with a simple screening? According to the American Heart Association , 350,000 Americans die from a cardiac arrest each year. Coronary calcium scoring is a quick, non-invasive cardiac exam that can give valuable insight into your heart health.
The inexpensive, elective screening measures the amount of calcium-containing plaque in a person’s arteries. Plaque buildup inside the arteries can grow and restrict blood flow, leading to a heart attack or other heart issues. Adult Congenital Heart Defect Care
❤️ Adult congenital heart defect patients can be seen by Dr. Ginns at Austin Heart
Congenital heart defects (CHDs) are the most common type of birth defect in the United States, affecting about every 1 in 100 births. These conditions develop before birth, and they can affect the heart's shape, how it functions or both.
Establishing ongoing heart care can be challenging for patients with CHD as they grow into adulthood. Our Adult Congenital Heart Disease program was built by the same ACHD cardiologist that built and grew the largest ACHD program in New York. Dr. Ginns' extensive clinical experience, research experience, and representation on the national level in advocacy for adult congenital heart disease means Austin Heart has one of the best ACHD resources in Texas. https://bit.ly/3SSomMH #AdultCongenitalHeartDefect #HealthierTomorrows #HeartMonth
Common signs and symptoms of heart arrhythmias
Heart arrhythmias, also known as heart rhythm problems, happen when the electrical signals that tell the heart when to beat and pump blood aren't working properly. An irregular heartbeat can be harmless, but other heart rhythm issues can be life-threatening. Our video breaks down the common signs and symptoms.
