Well, I am so glad I have spent so much time on getting healthy. It has been two weeks and I have now tested negative! I am not going to say it was easy, but it wasn’t too bad. I was running fever, coughing and had body aches off and on for about 10 days.

It has been a long time since I have really been sick, so I don’t have much to compare it to, but it seems like the flu, just longer.

I really took the time to rest and stay off of my phone. It was a really nice break. It helped me have some mental rest too.

I don’t mean to make light of it at all, it has been devastating to many people around the world. But, I think that the focus from the governments and agencies have been in the wrong place. The focus should be on being healthy!

You can keep your free donuts!

I know that being healthy is what kept me going and moving these couple of weeks!

Stay healthy everyone!

Started having symptoms on Saturday of body aches and some coughing. Got tested today and it was positive. It has been a few days of flu like symptoms, but I am feeling better now.

I am so glad that I have used the past few years to get healthy and to boost my immune system naturally with an animal-based diet.

I certainly think in today’s society, people look for a pill for what is wrong. But, I truly believe that overall health is the best defense against illnesses, Covid or otherwise.

While I am not vaccinated, I know plenty of people who are. I think everyone has the right to choose their own path. Whether you decide to take the vaccine or not, being healthy is the best way to help yourself.

Great post! The amount of obesity and chronic disease in the US has skyrocketed over the past few decades. Maybe we should look at the facts… Red meat may not be a demon from another universe, maybe it is all the processed crap that we have added with it!

Posted • Through my many years of nutritional science and the thousands of patient interactions I have had, there is one thing that I’ve seen work well for all individuals, and that is an optimal protein diet.

An optimal protein diet can be created from diverse food choices other than an emphasis on meat (although this is personally one of my favorite protein sources), it actually includes other dense animal foods like fish, eggs and dairy and if you are more plant based try and choose a shake or lower carbohydrate sources. In addition an optimal protein diet must also balance calories for body composition and obesity.

We live in an age in which access to information is abundant; more importantly, access to misinformation is even more abundant. I still hear the feedback from both healthcare practitioners and individuals that we eat too much meat. This creates a wave of suboptimal feeding strategies. What people hear when some says “you need to cut back on meat,” is further reduce high quality food sources and eat more carbs,

My initial recommendation is that individuals’ initial protein intake be one gram per pound of ideal body weight. This has numerous benefits some of which include increased satiety, protection of lean muscle and better blood sugar regulation.

The focus for overall health does require a protein forward approach, remember muscle is the largest organ (arguably the most important) in the body and that the health and quality of one’s muscle determines the trajectory of one’s life as it relates to health.

In our society, we focus on obesity and the concept of being overfat, rather than the solution, which is to deal with being under-muscled. High quality protein feeds muscle and the loss of muscle may be even more important than the gain of body fat.

One strategy to optimize muscle is increase high quality protein...and no we do not eat too much of it.

I went to Chimney Rock National Monument today for a hike! Although not challenging now, it would have been a few years ago.

I feel as though I’ve fought and won a personal battle, and I am on the top of my world. 🏔

The people that inhabited this monument lived at around 7000ft of elevation. It would have been extremely hard work to build and maintain a group on a small perch with only one way up.

Conquering has been a huge struggle for me in the past few years. It’s not fun, and there is no easy fix. But, the journey has been an amazing and I feel like a whole new person.

I’ve tried everything I knew to do to help; stretching🙆🏻‍♂️, physical therapy, chiropractic work, pain meds💊, rest, sauna, cryotherapy, pro-rite, rollers, yoga , meditation 🧘🏻‍♂️, supplementation, diet, exercise and whatever I could afford to help besides surgery. I wish I could’ve afforded things like stem cell therapy and other procedures.

I was at a point where the pain was so bad 😫, I would have tried anything at that point. For me, I was lucky.

Changing to a low inflammatory animal-based diet 🥩 and whatever movement 🏃🏻I could do was a great path for me to recover. It’s a long path and is certainly not easy. I had/have to fight through pain and make myself strong. Not everyone is so lucky.

I still have issues with my back and will “tweak” it every once in a while, but it does not stop me from doing what I want to do. It may make me take a rest day every now and then, but I never stop.

It is my battle. My battle is to help myself and others from suffering through the same issues that I have had. 💪🏼

If you have issues with I’d love to hear your story. DM me, let’s chat!

Made it to Pagosa Springs yesterday. What a great feeling to be in the mountains. Getting a hike in today by the river and commune with nature!

Plus a dry 81 degrees totally beats a humid 95 in Texas.

I can’t change the world in one day. I can’t change other people. But, I can change my mental state and my physical state.

Travel day today. Going to get out of town for a week and change my view while I work.

I love traveling to different locations and surrounding myself with another environment. I feel as though it makes me grow as a person and appreciate the world a little more.

Take some time everyday to assess your mental state. Your mindset is so important to your wellbeing.

Your mental state can also be changed drastically by some physical activity. Even if it is a pit stop for gas, get out, move around, stretch, get some sun. It makes a world of difference!

Be well my friends!

Meat is a great source of nutrients and has more bioavailability for most vitamins and minerals than plants. Plus, the density of vitamins in meat means that you can get all of your essentials and eat less.

While I’m not against eating some fruit, most plants are not all they’re cracked up to be. Plants are not harmless and for some people like me, they cause gastrointestinal stress, joint pain, and mental fog!

If you have questions about animal-based diets or the food you are eating, hit me up! I love to have conversations about food!

There is no “magic pill” that’s better than good nutrition, movement, and lifestyle.

Losing weight is no easy task. It takes hard work, control over habits, and a good support community.

Coming down from almost 300 lbs was not easy, I had to give up a lot of stuff that I loved, but it was SO worth it!

While I am sure there are some cases where medical intervention can be argued, because of acute threat of death, I would argue that in MOST cases it’s simply someone looking for the easy way out.

Medications of any sort have so many side effects. Changing your lifestyle has one BIG side effect, YOU GET BETTER!

Find a way of living that suits you.. I really enjoy the animal-based lifestyle, it is delicious, satisfying, and it works.

If you have questions on the animal-based lifestyle I would love to chat. DM me!

Just a little perspective. We are 1 person in a world of 7,674,000,000 people.

Our world is 1 in 100,000,000,000 worlds in our galaxy.

Our galaxy is 1 in 125,000,000,000 galaxies.

Sometimes it’s good to be humbled by how small we really are. Everything seems really important and urgent when it’s happening, but sometimes it’s good to take a step back and see things for how they really are.

For those of you who don’t know, I am half Cuban and seeing the peoples’ fight for freedom rings close to home. I really enjoyed (also saddened by) this broadcast today from .ms and .

It was really insightful. I am not asking anyone to take sides or get political, just to understand what is going on and be fellow humans.

I reposted the video in my stories.
