Massage may be one of the oldest forms of medical care, dating back over 5,000 years! Ancient Egyptian tomb paintings depict people being massaged. Chinese texts, 1,000s of years old, document the medical benefits of massage. Bodywork has been a form of natural healing to treat pain, illness, and even injuries for a long, long time. This may come as no surprise, however. Think about it…when you bump your head or an elbow what’s the first thing you do? Or if your neck is sore? Yep. You rub it. Our natural instinct to use purposeful touch has evolved into a healthy professional industry.
