When we talk about a Celebration of Life, we’re talking about more than a service.

We’re talking about a mixer type of event where stories are shared, memories are treasured, laughter and tears can sit together, and a family can remember their loved one in a way that feels personal.

At Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home, we help families create services that reflect the life that was lived. That might include favorite music, photos, keepsakes, special readings, a time of fellowship, or a setting that feels a little less formal while still being meaningful and respectful.

Traditional funerals will always have an important place. But for families looking for something a little different, we are here to help guide the way.

At Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home, we believe funeral care should extend beyond the service itself.

Because grief does not end when the flowers are taken home or when everyone leaves the cemetery.

For many families, the days after the funeral can be some of the hardest. There are decisions to make, emotions to sort through, and a new kind of normal to face.

Our aftercare is simply another way of saying: you are not alone.

We are here to help with grief resources, answer questions, offer guidance, and continue supporting families long after the day of the service has passed.

It is an honor to care for the families of Georgetown and Scott County — not just for a moment, but throughout the journey.

Preplanning is about more than making arrangements in advance. It is about making a difficult future moment a little easier for the people you love.

When the time comes, families do not just need answers. They need kindness. They need patience. They need someone who will slow down, listen, and give them their full attention.

At Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home, that is exactly what we strive to do. We believe every family deserves to feel seen, cared for, and supported from the very first conversation. Whether you are planning ahead or your family is facing a loss today, our commitment is the same: to be fully present, fully compassionate, and fully devoted to your care.

Preplanning matters because it gives your family a path forward. Choosing Tucker, Yocum & Wilson matters because it gives them people they can trust to walk that path with them.

At Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home, it was our honor to serve the family of Deputy Sheriff David Lee Hodapp this week.

We pause to remember his life, his service, and the quiet sacrifice that often comes with wearing the badge. We are grateful for those who dedicate themselves to protecting and serving others, and we extend our heartfelt appreciation not only for Deputy Hodapp, but for all first responders who give so much to their communities.

Please join us in keeping the Hodapp family, along with all those who serve in law enforcement, fire, EMS, and emergency response, in your thoughts and prayers.
