A pilot study presented at the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Research Congress explored whether a single session of Healing Touch (HT) could support anxiety levels in junior nursing students. In this small study, 37 students received a 50-minute Healing Touch session.

Results showed a statistically significant reduction in trait anxiety, which reflects longer-term anxiety patterns. State anxiety, which reflects immediate stress, increased, likely influenced by external academic and clinical pressures at the time of measurement.
