Last night the ambulance and fire department did some training together to better serve our community. By us training together makes us better to take care of our community. It was a lot of laughs and seriousness as well. We are one fire protection district.

This last Tuesday we had our staff meeting. 2 of our crew members were recognized by our EMS office for heart saver recognition. That is where when they have a patient and they go into cardiac arrest they survive and are successfully discharged from the hospital to home. Congratulations Mason Tuttle -EMT-P and Robin Cheesman EMT- B for your awards. We’re very proud to have such great crews on our ambulances.

Today we celebrate Veterans Day. Thank you to all who have served.

Today, we honor the hearts that carried courage into battle and the souls who carried home the cost of freedom.
To every veteran — your bravery echoes beyond time, your sacrifice shapes every sunrise of liberty we wake to. You gave more than years of service; you gave pieces of yourself so others could live in peace.

May this day remind us that freedom isn’t free — it’s written in the stories, the scars, and the strength of those who stood for us.
From every heart that beats in this land — thank you.

Some of our crews stopped in to wish Shelley good luck in her retirement. Shelley Peelman spent about 40 years in EMS. 20 of those years were spent being EMT, Paramedic, and Assistant Coordinator for Georgetown Ambulance. She was a large part in establishing us as the only full time ambulance service in Verm County outside the city of Danville (a statement that is still currently true to this day). She then went on to become a full time educator and the system coordinator. Teaching hundreds if not thousands of people over the years. She had a truly impactful career in our organization and in the field we work in. So thank you Shelley from all of us here at Georgetown. Enjoy your retirement you deserve it.
