🚫🔥 Burn Ban in Effect 🔥🚫

Vermilion County is still under a burn ban until further notice.

Please help keep our community safe by following these restrictions. The ban will remain in place until conditions improve and officials lift it. We will post again when the ban has been lifted to keep everyone aware.

Please don’t burn we are under a burn ban until further notice for our county.

Please don’t burn we are under a burn ban until further notice for our county.

Current status of Burn Bans across Central Illinois. Those in orange, some local municipalities have banned burning but other local areas and the county at large have not.

Continued upgrades to County Bans are anticipated due to dry conditions, but some welcome rain, even if it's not much, expected this weekend into the start of next week. Still, it will not solve the drought and fix things for us.

It’s that time of year again. Please watch for farmers and be safe on the road.

Harvest season is here, and you’ll likely see more slow-moving farm equipment on the roads. Be patient, give extra space, and drive with care—large equipment needs room to maneuver.

🚗 Motorists: allow extra travel time, slow down, share the road, and never pass illegally.
🚜 Farmers: travel safely, keep lights/reflectors visible, and pull over when safe and possible to help ease traffic.

Let's work together to keep Illinois roads safe this fall! Learn more: http://prez.ly/09ud
