𝙍𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧

As we head into the first high school rodeo of the season, let’s do our part to give our horses the best chance to excel, which starts with a clean, bedded stall.

These horses try their hardest for us in the arena, and they deserve a clean, soft place to rest and recover. A well rested horse feels better, performs better, and has the energy to run to the best of their ability.

I always make it a priority to keep my horses stalls clean throughout the day. Waking up early to feed, refreshing water often, and cleaning stalls multiple times (15+ times/day) so that by the time I go to bed, I know my horses are resting in fresh shavings. It’s a small habit that makes a big difference in how they feel the next day.

Your horse is the reason you get to be out there competing, so take pride in their care. A clean stall isn’t just good horsemanship, it’s a reflection of the respect and love we have for these incredible horses.

My point in all of this is, if you wouldn’t sleep in it or drink from that bucket, why should your horse have to? 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙜𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙩𝙧𝙖 𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙚. Please remember this when you’re going about your day this weekend.
