THIS Friday 11/21 is our next Free Parent Support Group! Now offering a virtual option for joining.

We have updates to our Free Parent Support Group for this Fall!

If you're not familiar with it... GBS hosts a FREE Parent Support group now once/ month for parents of children with disabilities. It's a time for connection, encouragement, resource-building, and coping!

The next one will take place on Friday, 10/17 at 12:00. You can attend in person OR virtually-- we'll leave that up to you! Just make sure to register via email and indicate how you plan to attend so we can send you the link.

These are a few of our favorite things (groups) coming up after the holidays!

1. A "Readers Theatre Group" for elementary kids with reading disabilities, reading struggles, or reading anxiety. Designed to teach literacy skills and coping with reading challenges in a fun, theatrical way!
2. Boys Middle School Social Skills Group: for middle school boys who may struggle in social contexts. Topics include friendships, navigating conflict, reading social cues/ acknowledging boundaries, conversation skills and confidence building.
3. Middle School Girls Emotional Processing Group: provides a space for Middle School girls to gain support as they navigate the difficulties of friendships, social conflict, and mood fluctuations while promoting emotional resilience, increased self-respect, and social connection.

Reminder about our upcoming ETHICS CE Event (for 3 ETHICS NBCC-approved CEs) on 11/21 from 9:00-12:10.

Dr. Jordan will also be discussing various ethical concepts as it relates to varying mental health codes of ethics, including school counseling, psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, etc.!

Need Ethics CE hours? Dr. Cyndi Jordan with GBS will be offering a live, in-person training on ethics in helping professions on Friday, November 21st, 2025 at our Germantown location!

3 NBCC approved Ethics CE's will be offered to participants who attend the training.

The Ethical Compass: Reflecting on Ethics and Everyday Practice is an intermediate workshop designed for Licensed Professional Counselors or Social Workers in Tennessee. This session offers a practical and interactive exploration of essential ethical principles, including core values, the counseling relationship, confidentiality and privacy, professional responsibility, collaboration with other professionals, evaluation and assessment, and effective strategies for resolving ethical dilemmas in everyday practice.

Participants will engage in a learning experience that blends informative lecture, Socratic dialogue, and experiential exercises. Through real-world case scenarios and guided discussion, attendees will deepen their understanding of ethical decision-making and gain tools to confidently navigate complex situations in their professional roles.

Target Audience: Counselors or Social Workers working in a variety of professional settings, including clinical, community and school settings.

Not into fighting crowds for shopping on Black Friday??

Come join Rachel Gay, LBA, BCBA at GBS Germantown location from 9:00-11:00 as she trains parents and caregivers on crisis management strategies with individuals with disabilities and children with high risk behaviors.

When we have a plan on how to prevent and respond to crisis behaviors, we're MUCH more effective at managing them. AND it lowers stress levels (which, let's face it, everyone could use!)

Guess who is joining our team?!
We're so excited to announce that Kaleigh Davis is now accepting clients and has immediate availability for Applied Behavior Analytic (ABA) services at GBS! Kaleigh works with children, families, and school systems to best support each child's individualized needs. She is also willing to work in multiple settings, including in-home services, in schools, or in our GBS office!
