Today, the inaugural UTHSC-Campbell Clinic Foundation Orthopaedic Summer Internship class presented their final research projects.

Throughout the last six weeks, Emma, Ashley and Cate gained valuable insight into the world of orthopaedics through research, surgeon shadowing, mentorship, and physician and resident learning. We’ve loved seeing their interest in orthopaedics grow and passion for medicine deepen.

Please join us in congratulating our new UTHSC-Campbell Clinic Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program Director, Dr. Clayton Bettin.

Dr. Bettin is Division Chief - Hospital Orthopedics and fellowship-trained Foot and Ankle Surgeon. He's been part of the education leadership team since he joined the Clinic in 2016. He attended medical school at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health.

Fun fact: Dr. Bettin completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Campbell Clinic in 2015. We're excited to have him lead our Residency Program!

Campbell Clinic alumni-representing four decades of graduates—friends and family gathered at the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) meeting last Friday in Nashville. We love learning how our Campbell-trained surgeons serve their patients and lead in their communities and field.

Dr. Fred Azar led a toast to Dr. Barry Phillips, joined by his wife Amy, for a tremendous career in sports medicine.

Today marks two years since the heartbreaking loss of our dear friend, colleague, and physician, Dr. Benjamin Mauck. His warmth, dedication, and care left an indelible mark on our patients, our team, and our community.

In his memory, we are proud to dedicate our new Campbell Clinic -Collierville building in his honor — a space that will continue the legacy of healing and excellence that defined his life and work.

As we reflect on his life and the many lives he touched, we also remember the family he loved so deeply.

The Foundation and Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics partner to conduct research, advancing industry knowledge and improving patient care. More than that, our research leads to positive policy change.

Dr. Matthew Wideman (PGY-3) and Dr. Thomas "Quin" Throckmorton published a paper discussing the recent approval of outpatient total shoulder arthroplasty surgery through Medicare. This will improve outcomes in patient care and make a positive impact on our overall health care system.
